Random update time.

Many of the plants are still getting bleached/burned from the lamps. 21 inches is still too close. I looked at the clones that have been in there for 2 weeks or so, and they are perfectly healthy and green. Its just that they're at least 6 inches further away from the light, and some a foot. Ive now tied the skunk hazes to around 32 inches below the light.

I also flooded the floor like a dummy with those blumats. I can't seem to get them dialed in. Its really frustrating at this point. I think I will rest now and do some more work tomorrow. I need to transplant some clones. They've been in their cloning container a month now I think. I finally cleared some space, and Im hoping to move four more clones into the flower chamber tomorrow.

Well, I have more bad news. I was inspecting plants for seeds, and I discovered two of my Early Durbans were hermies :(. The two plants have the densest buds of the 5 obviously. They'll be moved outdoors and Ill try to pluck the nanners as they appear. Ive culled the slow flowering ED. She was badly seeded. Lots of little seeds forming. It doesn't appear that it came from the hermies though, as I saw no pollen dropped by them. No other plants have a bunch of seeds forming like this one, so Im at a bit of a loss as to how it happened.

Im gonna try to do ten day updates for the flowering clones from here on out and hopefully manage to stay on schedule. Ill start out with Skunk Haze E clone. She's really taken off in the 10 days of flower she's had so far. There was a small period where she was getting bleached, but she's been moved further away from the lights and has recovered. I went ahead and tied her top down as I didnt have the space to be crop her. I flowered her as soon as I pulled her from her cloning chamber, so she had a small root system, but from the way she looks now, I'd say she has developed some nice roots down there.

Here are the pics from 31st.

Here is a pic from the 6th showing the bleaching.

Now, here she is from the 10th. Looks like a different lady.

Ive got awesome news. Ive got spider mites. Booyah!!!

Ive only noticed it on a few of my clones so far. I believe I actually brought them into the grow op from where I am keeping my pollen donors. I checked a Skunk Haze male and his leaves were badly affected. The female clones at the other location aren't nearly as affected. It seems nothing will go right for me on this grow.

Ive ordered some Montery Garden Insect Spray with Spinosad. Its supposed to work pretty well on spider mites. I have some Dyna Grow Neem oil, but that shit stinks, and even when using a surfactant with it, it still wont mix for shit. Ill still give the clones a treatment with it while Im waiting on the Spinosad to arrive in the mail. Hopefully Ive caught them before they can get out of hand.

That sucks to hear Dave. Try using an old skool mix of Garlic, Pepper & Water. It wont hurt ur plants, plus its organic as it comes & the spider mites cant stand it! Just spray it off in about a week or so.

I recently read about that literally yesterday..heh. Have you ever tried it. Ive read it works, read it doesn't, so Im unsure.

Sorry to hear about the spider mites Dave, little fuckers they are...
Indeed they are. Hopefully they dont survive my attempts to kill them. I sprayed down the affected clones(5 or 6) with neem oil. Hope I didn't over do the dose as Ive never sprayed it on foliage before. I guess we'll see in a day or so how they look.

Unfortunately i cant swear buy it, but the guy who teaches me alot of things is the one who taught me about it. I was telling him how much i hate spidermites and what i did to get rid of em (sprayed with Mite Spray, Flooded the room to 10,000PPM with a CO2 Bottle, & turned on a Dehumidifier for the night then threw a bag of Lady Beetles in there to get the stragglers. Oh also i added Lavender Plants to my growroom as well as burning lavender essence candles). He laughed. His thoughts on the little fuckers are to shrug his shoulders - so if he honestly isnt fazed by em, then the recipe must be effective.

Loving the Grow by the way. What's next in line for Harvest?

First off, fucking awesome avatar.

I may give the pepper/garlic mixture a try in 3 or 4 days if my spinosad hasn't arrived yet. I want to see how effective the Neem Oil is first before trying anything else.

The next ladies to be harvested will be the two faster flowering Skunk Haze girls. We've been on 12/12 for 75 days now, and I think they will be ready between day 90-100. One looks a bit more developed than the other, so Im hoping for day 90. Im dying to smoke them.

I may have a couple of Early Durbans ready around that time too. The two hermies are outdoors now and Im hoping they wont go full blown on me, but probably will knowing my luck. The two indoors are probably 3-4 weeks away.

Im glad you are enjoying the grow still. I thought with all the fuck ups along the way people might lose interest. Then again everyone loves a good wreck..

I hope to be starting a new grow journal in 3-4 weeks once I get things lined up. Ive already ordered my T5 fixture, bulbs will be ordered tomorrow, and Ill be sending money off for Mr. Nice Black Widow, and his Shit(aka Skunk #1). Im hoping to do some breeding with both these ladies in the future, and cross them to my Afropips Durban Poison. I can even make more "early durbans" :) Hopefully these wont go hermie too.

I realized something odd about flower formation after being pollenated. I was examining the two Early Durban hermies, and I was saying to myself, "Why wont these damned buds swell? Its been flowering for nearly 50 days, and its listed as an 8 week strain."

I broke out the scope and examined the buds, and I saw a fair bit of amber. More than I would expect for such small buds at this point, yet all the hairs were nearly orange. Something was amiss. I began to squeeze the buds gently to see if they are dense, and to my surprise, they were, yet so small. I looked closer again, and realized there is a lot of calyx development. They're just stacked one top of one another tightly, but they dont swell at all. I realized, the buds were miniaturized. Its like shooting a normal bud with a shrink ray gun, and poof! its a third of its size.

These ladies were seeded, but no worse than 10-15 seeds each, even with two hermies in the mix. So I thought, this can't affect my yield that badly. Its just a few seeds. I thought I was in the clear once all the seeds were removed, but boy was I wrong. Yield will definitely be impacted due to these dwarf buds.

Then I realized something peculiar. Why is one of my Early Durbans, who was also pollinated, not affected by this miniaturized stature. She was swelling nicely, and I believe she will be a normal bud.

Then there is Chunky X. She's the long flowering lady who just isn't ready yet. She took about 3 weeks to flower later than her sisters. Maybe two. Her buds are seeded too, yet they continue to get grow and swell as normal.

This same occurrence occurred on my last harvest, where I had two hermies. One developed normal long thick cola with seeds, while the other was miniaturized.

Adding more of my plants into this mix. My 3rd Dimension clone has had 2 or 3 seeds pulled from her, but she's developing just like normal. Her buds are swelling and looking nice. My two JTRB may have had a seed or two, but they are plowing right through like it never happened.

Its weird how differently, seeding can affect the plants.

I want to thank C9 for giving me this insight into my garden.

/end rambling.

Mite update: I applied twice now the neem oil via foliar feeding, and once by dunking the smaller plants into it.

I examined the plants in the flower tent a couple days ago, and couldn't find any mites on leaves that showed signs of mite activity. Perhaps I caught them in time.

Now the plants in the veg/clone tent, still have mites. I can see them with my naked eye. The Skunk Haze are the worst. Its a little too hard to dunk them into the solution, so I dont think I was able to treat them as well.

A couple of my Chunky Cindies got burned by the Neem oil. I used it at half strength, and it was too much for them. The Skunk Hazes also got burned as well. Pics below will show what I mean. The rest of the plants were fine.

Chunky Cindie below.

My Spinosad arrived today, so I am going to make up a solution of that, spray down the plants again, as well as dunk the smaller plants into it.

Its time for a 30 day update for JTRC, 3rd D, and C9 that were placed into the tent on the 18th of July. Latest pics were taken last night. Pics start on July 18th, and ending on August 18th.

C9

It looks like I forgot to get a single shot of C9 at the beginning, so a group shot will have to do. She's the one at the bottom. I didn't have much hope for her as she looked like crap before going in there, but she's taken off nicely.

IMG_0796.jpgIMG_0991.jpgIMG_1060.jpgIMG_1499.jpgIMG_1501.jpgIMG_1503.jpgIMG_1505.jpgIMG_1605.jpgIMG_1606.jpgIMG_1608.jpg

I expect another 4-5 weeks or so before she is done. Ill do another picture update of her at that point.

JTRC & 3rd D will be done later today, or perhaps tomorrow. Its time for some rest.

I still havent forgotten about the JTRC and 3rd D pics. Maybe later today.

On a side note, is anyone interested in a Durban Poison and Skunk Haze journal from seed? My T5 fixture is supposed to show up in the mail today, and the bulbs have already arrived. I pray everything works perfectly fine. Im ready to get this journal on the go today.

Heres the 30 day update of JTRC. She's gonna be a low yielder even unseeded. Small buds like her mom, and long internodal distance.

Can someone tell me if this is Karma, or just bad luck?

I ordered some fast food last recently, and everything was wrong with the food. Hell even the cup leaked, so I called and made a complaint. I rarely ever call and complain. I didn't even mention everything that was wrong about the meal to the manager. He offered to replace it, so I went and got it just awhile ago. It was much better this time around, and as I was finishing off the last bite, I bit down real hard on the underside of my tongue. It was a painful bite, but Ive had worse. Im also high, so its more manageable. I finished my meal, and went to look at my tongue after getting an odd taste in my mouth.

I was bleeding quite a bit from under my tongue! My tongue hasn't bled since I was an early teenager. Theres quite a nice cut in my tongue. What a joke this is I say. Its as if someone is punishing me for getting a free meal. Maybe god really does exist??!?!?!?!?

Just a comedy of errors Dave :-)
But, wait theres more! My Chunky B clone went hermie on me too! The seed plant didn't, so I imagine it was the stress of revegging for a couple of weeks before I flowered it. I took her down 7-14 days earlier than I would have liked, but not much I could do. She had about 6 nanners. None had dropped pollen thankfully. Ill have pictures of the harvested lady tonight.

On a positive note, my Skunk Haze ladies are pregnant with deliberate seeds. Oddly enough, the Hazy lady is forming seeds the quickest. Her seeds are large and in charge already, while the other two ladies are taking their time, and its a bit difficult to spot the seeds.

Another plus, is that I will soon be able to set two of my 8 x 4 tents up in about a month, so double the fun, or is it trouble at this point? I dont quite know.

Okay, time for some updates.

In keeping with the tradition of this thread(read: failures), I present another one to you.

One of my outdoor plants was a total loss. It was watered four days ago, and below you is how it looked today. Awesome. Totally.
