You really don't know fuck all about geothermal energy production, do you?

Go get your own education, it's not my job to spoon feed the ignorant.
You clearly know fuck all about fuck all, which is why you've fallen for the corporate and political lies regarding the subject.

The sooner we can alienate our self from the rest of the world, the sooner we will all be paying the right price to figure out how to control fracturing so we still have drinking water.

Noticed how much the oil industry balked at Trumps tariffs?

China exploiting Africa without US competition...

It's Industry run wild. It's Treason.

As I say, it's all politics. There's a lot more oil and gas out there than currently exploited, especially gas, and especially shale ripe for fracking. The problem with fracking is political, as also in the UK, with the treehuggers being out in force with all sorts of wild scare stories and politicians being to scared to put means in force so even the exploration can go ahead.

I had hopes that Trump would have the balls to break OPEC, for allowing said cartel to operate helps nobody. But unless there's a new plan to get Iran onside and the oil flowing there then it's situation normal as far as pandering to certain countries goes, which means the current ripping off everyone.

But that's a side issue. The same problems apply. We've had knee jerk reactions to some dubious "science" which has led to a stupendous amount of money being squandered, money that would have been better used to find real, permanent and viable solutions that would have been starting to bring real efficiencies, etc, in regarding how we create and use all forms of energy worldwide.

As I say, wind/solar and EVs have a place, but they are nowhere near being the replacement they are claimed to be and it's time that was realised and some rational, long term, thinking was done.

Exxon has been selling off it's US assets, while cock-blocking alternative energy research.
(easy pickings here are over).
We have reached the point where "What's good for Russia/China is good for Halliburton thereby good for the US".
China cant make Africa energy independent and the US at the same time.
(more cock-blocking)
President Donald Trump’s tariff on imported solar panels has led U.S. renewable energy companies to cancel or freeze investments of more than $2.5 billion in large installation projects, along with thousands of jobs, the developers told Reuters.

What's the best way to remove Chromates from my gelled-acid interprop infused drinking water?

Treasonous.

Must look more into the Exxon thing, could be assorted reasons, but afaik other big oil companies are still forging ahead with their own "alternative" projects as they know there's money to be made and another cartel to create with nice tax breaks from governments.

As far as the solar thing goes, was there not something about tearing up rules on coal, another vote winner in certain areas?

As I say, it's all politics, creates the situation where enough of the people get fooled by short term visions designed to make them think they are getting something, then hands over the cash to "favoured" projects designed to fill the gap created by the politicians, leaving just enough space for the pork belly fat to drip down to those who deserve it for creating the profitable market gap in the first case.

PS. Africa "energy independent"? Don't make me laugh, that means that the tolerated dictators, and they'll only be tolerated as long as the Chinese, Russians or whoever tolerate them, lose control over the population and that's never going to happen in a long time. That continent is another sore point with me, but a subject for another thread.

I spend my time buttonholing professionals, scientists and engineers with experience in their relevant fields.

You might try it sometime.

I can tell you don't know your history, because China and Russia are amateurs compared to America's track record at the geopolitical game of overthrowing democracies and installing dictators who will do what we want.

If you told us less and listened more, you might find yourself learning something, especially from @Grandpapy

And the US is a statistical irrelevance when compared to how much of the world the UK had more than just the influence of installing dictators, so I fail to see your point there, especially in the context of this thread.

And I ain't the one who brought the Saudis and Russians into this, but I did reply in the context of this thread.

Oh, I'm also not the one ranting like a loon in every post, that tells us more about you and the quality of any possible discussion than anything else.

Again, so much wrong with the accuracy of your statements.

Go get an education or suffer the consequences of no one taking your opinions seriously.
