Flushing = ignorance

But they aren't trying to suck out nutrients they are getting rid of all the nutrients at the root level to allow the plant to eat the stored nutrients. Why would they store nutrients if they can't use em?
Because plants don't store nutrients, they store the starches they produce by way of photosynthesis . Nutrients are consumed in the conversion during photosynthesis and in the biosynthesis of new tissues.

I feed full on hot shit til chop.
Now understand I have one successful harvest.
I don't claim to be a master grower. Except that one thread but I was obviously being facetious. Lol.

All I'm saying is there is no science supporting it. Actually the science says it's not possible.

As far as the fade or whatever you call it. The allowing the plant to use up its stores.
This I don't know about. I don't know that you would lose any yield. Do the plants put on more bud with full feed vs using stored food?? Now if it's true that they put on the same weight then it seems the benefit would be the value of the saved nutrients. I still don't think that it would help with taste. That's still in the cure. I would defer to @Indacouch and others who do this.

Now the difference between @Indacouch and @Afgan King and the average newbie is that those guys know when they will harvest a certain strain.

For me and I'm sure most, we have to watch the plant. Scope it for trichomes. Fight the urge to chop early...etc...
So you have all these people who are already being taxed with learning and keeping their shit alive, and now throw in this bullshit tactic of timing the unnecessary pre-harvest flush ....

I can only imagine the amount of lost yield on this planet every year... if only we could quantify that.

It's freaking voodoo hocus pocus....yes it rains and yes the ground can get flooded and stripped.

But that can happen any time at all spring, summer, or fall.

The only thing any of the stuff does is kill the plant faster.

Basically speeding up a process that will happen.

Most of it's to sell Books or Seeds or something else......................:leaf:

Riddle me this..... Jorge Cervantes recommends flushing with a mild nutrient solution apparently to ensure that the plants have nutrients.

*Cough
lead_960.jpgbob (1).jpg bob (2).jpg

Now make sure you flush....and make sure you flush with nutes in it.....lol!

I swear I have never seen a more gossip, wives tale, rumor driven hobby than pot growers.

OK maybe National Enquire Readers beat em slightly...

Jorge cervantes is an idiot imo. contradicts himself on fucking everything

There is science. Is horticulture. We know nutrients can't be sucked out of the buds.
Flushing does not suck nutrients out of anything, that is known. It takes away anymore that are in the medium so that the plant uses up what it has. I don't recall reading anywhere that it supposedly sucks nutrients out of the flowers.

I try to stay away from the topic because there's people who think flushing means just water ...but when I hear flushing I'm talking about people running fuckin 150 gals of water through a 50 gal pot ....that's flushing to me .......I'm all about stopping food and just keeping the soil happy and using normal water forwards the end .......I've been doing it so long and I have my favorite strains I like to grow for my sister with cerebral palsy for her seizures and others like her cancer patients etc etc .....so I'm pretty good at knowing my strains and when to stop feeding them without hurting yeild but also not giving excess food ......I don't like to ever tell people there wrong but there are a few things that are ludacris to me and flushing tons of water is one of them .....I would almost guarentee I achieve more by just giving regular water in normal amounts towards the end as far as cleaning up the plants ...than dumping tons of water through at the last minute .....just my thoughts on it
I said same shit last week is just regular amount of ph water nothing crazy then last one is just ice placed on top of the tupur in the pots to mimic first frost and fade black. Flushing is pointless no need to run gallons of water thru your plant and like.you said there's plenty of nutes in the tissues of the plants so they have plenty to eat especially on 2 waterings without food lol that's nothing
When you pour a ton of water through your pot, technically that is referred to as leeching the soil . And can have uses but only if a mistake has been made

Flushing is a made up term and basically total Bullshit.
I agree flushing is not a term or a requirement. I agree on the term leeching.

The only time it is needed is for salt buildup. People can avoid that with proper watering techniques. The main one, watering to the point of good runoff when using synthetics.

First I'm hearing of this. So the process is soaking/washing the buds? Why?

Also, did I screw these up? They soaked for 2 days, sunk to the bottom, and have been in the wet toweling for 2 days....

You should be fine. Mine sit in water till they crack. If its taking awhile you may want to slightly scuff them with sand paper. I like to do it where they split open.

The presence of chlorophyll is what makes smooth or harsh bud not macro & micro levels within the bud, knowing that I decrease N in the rez each week from week 1 to 6,then no N from week 6 to 8 when I chop, the result is a canopy that's about 40% yellow leaves and a serious reduction in chlorophyll, the day I chop the plants are still fed 900 ppm PK & micros .

the whole " flushing " nonsense is a scam from nute company's which is driven by growers who have the " if I do extra the buds will be better" mentality, the products sold for flavor enhancement like grape flavor are targeted at people who also flush, for those of us who've grown semi trucks loads of primo bud & know flushing isnt a plus were told our taste buds aren't special enough to catch the subtle nuances

reminds me of when California wine makers put French wine snobs to the Pepsi challenge, after their superior taste bud failures sent em back to France with gaping assholes Cali wines have bee kicking French wines asses ever since :bigjoint:
