Flushing = ignorance

My favorite part-------

To us, the concept that flushing somehow changes the chemistry in plant tissue that has been laid down for weeks requires a scientific explanation because that concept seems akin to claiming that the car engine is cleaner after washing the car’s hood. Nutrients are locked in the plant, and an external flush cannot undo the complex biology that locked them in.

The levels of nutrients concentrated in plant tissue are up to 1,000 times more concentrated than those nutrients in the root zone. One-hundred ppm nitrogen solutions produce plants whose leaves can contain upwards of 10,000 ppm of nitrogen. Since we have established that none of those 10,000 ppm are going anywhere but within the plant, we are looking for explanation of how that concentration is being reduced by a flush to the extent it can affect flavor. We haven’t found it yet.

I've use to flush until I realized it made no difference ....I just stop the food late into flower continue feeding my soil with molasses water then the last few weeks is just water .....I like a nice fade on my girls .......but running tons of water through a plant doesn't do anything except kill baby rhinos in Africa .....

I said same shit last week is just regular amount of ph water nothing crazy then last one is just ice placed on top of the tupur in the pots to mimic first frost and fade black. Flushing is pointless no need to run gallons of water thru your plant and like.you said there's plenty of nutes in the tissues of the plants so they have plenty to eat especially on 2 waterings without food lol that's nothing

I try to stay away from the topic because there's people who think flushing means just water ...but when I hear flushing I'm talking about people running fuckin 150 gals of water through a 50 gal pot ....that's flushing to me .......I'm all about stopping food and just keeping the soil happy and using normal water forwards the end .......I've been doing it so long and I have my favorite strains I like to grow for my sister with cerebral palsy for her seizures and others like her cancer patients etc etc .....so I'm pretty good at knowing my strains and when to stop feeding them without hurting yeild but also not giving excess food ......I don't like to ever tell people there wrong but there are a few things that are ludacris to me and flushing tons of water is one of them .....I would almost guarentee I achieve more by just giving regular water in normal amounts towards the end as far as cleaning up the plants ...than dumping tons of water through at the last minute .....just my thoughts on it

Exactly just starve em they got plenty to eat for a week in a soilless mix. the runnin shit tons of water is what I consider flushing as well. Like when people get nute lock never have this issue and never have I ever "flushed" but I will starve em for a week why waste nutws when there's plenty in the tupur and in plant to last one week without hurting yield

And I'm a soil grower personally so like you said above starve them ....but the funny thing to me is as far as I understand when the plants are fading late into flower before chop it's because there using what they've stored up in those older leafs .....so were not even starving them really were letting them use there reserves that's all.......so what seems cleaner to you .....a plant that is using what it has stored to survive the last bit of life .......or a plant that's completely green full of food rite before chop ...but running tons of water through it is guna clean it up as good as letting it fade /use it's reserves .....

I personally wouldn't even starve them. I don't use soil. Never touched the stuff. Lol.

I just don't believe that there is "excess" anything in the bud. The bud eats what it needs.
Now if you're smarter than me and withholding food because the plant doesnt need it and you're saving money then okay. That's good.

But this whole bullshit about nutes leaving the buds and traveling down the plant and into the roots and out to the res or soil is bullshit.

The chemical argument is bullshit because we know the plants get the same shit whether it's chemical in the soil or fucking organic hippie shit. (No offense to hippies or organics)

I like a good fade and my plants to look like they've been through a bit of a battle ....after 20 years of this shit that's just my preference and it works out well smell and taste wise ....I don't ever have anyone complain about my mmj .....I'm not saying a perfectly green plant is a bad thing ...I'm just sharing my personal technique ....and I've tried all kinds of shit over the years and this is just what I personally like

I think either way, what's in the bud is in the bud. It will not change whether it is using up stored shit or if the fucker is bright green.

I'm guessing that if you are doing it right then you are saving money on nutes. Nothing more nothing less.

I don't think a fade is starving a plant and everyone has there own methods which is fine .....il stick to mine I'm a stubborn old fart that is set in his ways .....so to each there own and as long as I'm popping open my cure jars to monster nugs that fill my room with a heavy weed scent like I just walked into Starbucks ....I'm good with that

Just to clarify, I definetly respect you as an experienced grower and a contributor here.
All I'm saying is that your bud would probably be just as good if you didn't fade.

However you are probably saving nutes.

And for you it works out great because you know when to do it.

The problem is that this myth that perpetuates and is taken as fact by new growers. We don't know exactly when to harvest and we are bombarded with this flush shit so people are flushing for 2 weeks before they chop. That has to affect yield. And for what? Nothing.

When you pour a ton of water through your pot, technically that is referred to as leeching the soil . And can have uses but only if a mistake has been made

Flushing is a made up term and basically total Bullshit.
Yes. And that is what I mean by flushing. Not fixing soil or nute lock-out.

Every new grower is like hey I think I'm close to harvest do I flush now. Fuck. I was gonna flush too. It's on every tutorial. All the main stream sites. So then you are afraid that if you don't flush then your weed will be shit..

Oh I understand it's a friendly debate no hard feelings I'm ok with talking different strategies and hearing opinions ....I'm always willing to read or listen to learn something new .....appreciate that by the way ....same here

So true all I see is noobs saying am I ready for flush .....another thing that gets looked over is harvesting drying and curing ....just as important as growing .....my mentor as a young man was an old hippie that worked on our cattle ranches ....he taught me the kiss method keep it simple stupid ...worked in his gardens for many years and never had a problem until after he passed away and I deviated from what he taught me ......guess what 20 years later I'm a kiss grower lol

I'm leaning that way. For me aero is simpler. I just spray water out of a pvc pipe.

I'm using hydroguard gh flora 3 part and cal mag and silica. That's it.
Trying not to buy into any bullshit
