are a blast. My local streams used to be awesome smallmouth fishing but ever since the walleye and sauger exploded in the river the bass population is down.. on the upside walleye and sauger do taste a lot better

We have some decent smallies around here. This is a repost but it was the biggest small jaw I caught last year. I practice catch and release on everything but crappie, walleye, and big bluegill.

My back yard. All those lakes have Browns, cut throat, rainbows, brooks, tiger and even some golden trout. I can walk to my closest fishing spot.

Edit: I had that sort of proximity when I was in MN years back, just no trout. But I could just spur of the moment go fishing with less than a minute prep time

Yeah all my gear is in my truck. Sometimes a trip to the grocery store turns into an impromptu fish session. Come and visit me anytime and we'll slay some trout!

I'm the same way. Went to the hardware store this morning and somehow ended up in the creek. Lots of smallies in there but no luck today.

Hahaha yeah it's like a bad addiction. I've ended up in the creek on total autopilot not even intending on fishing. It's bad.

Recently fished on the White river - didn't see any of these monsters this time, but you never know.
A 7wt 9' rod w/ a sinktip line swinging a sculpin fly can get you hung up with one of these gators w/ the right conditions if you're very good/lucky.

The tray reminds me of wolfing down food in boot camp except the "food" didn't ever look that good.

closest pond I fish at is 16 minutes away and yes my rod and gear bag are in my car from April thru October

I used to gut,gill and grill brookies when younger. salt& pepper,butter and lemon! Cook til the eyes turn white and they are perfect.

I catch and release mostly. But on our backpacking trips we play survivor. We bring no food and if we don't catch, we don't eat.

Came to the camp to cut grass, but getting side tracked
