too bad you have to pick out the males in autoflowering strains... or else those auto ak's might be a very suitable plant for this type of set-up. Feminized still wouldn't cut it cause you get the hermis. how do you keep the plants from hitting the light when their is little under 2 feet distance from the root cube to the light.

how much veging time is one way, meaning the less time veging the smaller your plants are going to be. there is also a compressing effect on the plant because of its rotation in the system. there is also a product on the market that will convert the plants strate into flower without them veging after appliying the product from Dutch Master i believe. with this grow all i did was give em 5 days of veg and they ended up the way you see em.

i agree with maximus, that you dont know until you try it. If i had the money,(and a 2 car garage to park it in, ha) i would buy one of theses in a heartbeat. i think 2 pounds from a 600 is way better than most of us can pull of.

the volksgarden only takes up about 10 sq ft. i am in an apartment, no garage mahal. brought it in by myself as i didnt need any help, its just the right size to handle and its very light in weight.

Why all the hate your jumping on him before he even gets everything figured out. No where do I see him pushing this product but simply explaining how the process of growing in the volksgarden works. Keep up the good work maximus ignore the haters the world is filled with them.

You want results how's this for results...these pictures speak for themselves

These rotational hydroponic wheels are proven to work you just have to have them dialed in properly and with the right strain. They obviously aren't for everyone as is everything else in life.

that's NOT 3 pounds off ONE 600 watt light.

stop making BS claims and i won't challenge them. :)

those are the third pics i've ever seen. 2 year old pics, but pics. we're getting closer.

still not 3 pounds. 1 and a half maybe. those are 1/2 ounce plants. and that looks like 2 lights.

i would love to own and grow out of one of these. but i need proof before i BLOW 2 grand. sorry.

Those are Roto-Gro's. If I recall, they'll run you about 5 grand or so. They look like superior quality though. If it was a possibility for me to get one, that would be the one!

the plants in the center closet to the bulb are fried. they are only halfway thru flowering and they are getting burnt. now what?

I wasn't trying to put down your plans oregon, I hope you can pull it off, it would be great to see. I think that all of these rotary systems are pretty cool. Hopefully I can help to prove there worth in the future.

you need a bigger wheel. offset the light to one side a little so you can adjust the distance from the plants. make the light adjustable. maybe even use 2 lights. :hump:

i dont think its all that bad, it being plastic, lightweight, low maintanence is a good thing.
it ofcourse has its own learning curve.
it is a bit expensive, but its a good design, and everyone wants to make money.
with time price will come down perhaps, then it will be appreciated.

i would like to see more maximus, i hope you get it performing well

Oh I fully expected heat for trying this the way I was. I was laughing at my plans myself actually and had the idea of showing people a cardboard box holding the hula hoop wheel spinning on fire in my back yard.

(After I used to to work out the dimensions and stuff to try to shrink it for a smaller light.)

But I'm skipping that now and just going to copy a full size volks. It would have just been wasted time screwing around with anything less.

The hula hoop would have probably actually worked though, but I would have had to run it as if it were a belt in tracks around the sides and that would have been more work than it's worth and more cost with a lot of guide wheels. The thought was like tank treads on a track.

where's the pot? these things have been around for 10 years now. i've seen pics of 2 with pot in them. that's it. i would think if this was soooo good, like 3 pounds off a 600 watter good , then EVERYONE would do this. why don't we see more of these grows?
The reason is because of people like you.

Newbs come to the forum for advice and you experienced guys betray them by acting as defacto marketing teams for the whole hydro industry. Its ok tho. I mean you go with what you know. But i hate how you flat growers talk so much shit about these things.

You give good advice but it is always slanted toward flat gardening. There is even a shortage of vertical grow journals on the internet, so of course it will be hard to find a journal with a contraption that cost 2000. Its is cheap to go vertical now so you can find about ten journals on the whole interenet. Now that the volksgarden is 2000 and not 2500+ im sure you will see more journals soon.

I will make a journal with mine in about a month and a half. What are some good strains to grow in the volksgarden?

he is saying you have much influence over the RIU community, and your knocking based on the fact that you havent seen to many grow journals on it.
this is ofcourse a factor for us all , few people are in a position, and are willing to break tradition.
