Do you have a scope, jewelers loop?
Not sure what your looking for, but I try to harvest @ 70% cloudy, 30% clear, yes there are a few amber but I try to keep that to a minimum.
My buddy likes just the opposite, 70/30 clear/cloudy, he likes a more uppity type high, I like a milder high.
I do use the breeders dates to begin checking on trichs.

@gr865 I do have a jewelers loupe. The last two photos were taken through it. It's hard to keep a phone stable and get a good photo. To me it looks like they're all clear at the moment. I'm looking for couch lock high so more amber. I don't like sativa at all. It makes me too paranoid and frigidity.

@Renfro I've given 1ml per gallon of nitrogen during flower and haven't given any when topping up nutes. Should I cut it out completely?

I believe that in later flowering you want to see the fan leaves fade to yellow starting from the bottom of the plant. This means the plant is consuming the mobile nutrient, nitrogen, from the older growth to manufacture and ripen buds. This is good because too much nitrogen in the buds means they end up a darker green and tend to burn harsher. What you want more of in later flowering is potassium and phosphorous. The potassium is key to terpene production and phosphorous is key to bud size.

As you do more runs, you may experiment with this theory to help fine tune your quality. Dropping the N during flower and ramping up the P and K to get the same feed strength.

Anyways, thats just how I do it. Good grow man! Don't let me tell you what to do lol just food for thought.

Beautifull grow, plants look amazing

i have been pleased with my first run, but it pales in comparison to these girls.

Best of luck the rest of the way.

@Renfro I'm currently using the captain's nutrient recipe. https://www.dudegrows.com/the-captains-nutrient-recipe/ but I'm using voodoo juice in place of the recharge. For flowering he has you reduce grow from 3ml per gallon to 1ml and increase the bloom from 1ml per gallon to 3ml. I'm also using 2ml per gallon of koolbloom. I didn't change the res last week, but I'm planning to change this weekend. I could probably omit the grow portion altogether.

@diggs99 I've been following your grow thread. Your plants look amazing! I think your buds are going to be larger than mine.

@Keesje Thanks for the info.

I've found it easier to get a close up look with a microscope by cutting small pieces of sugar leave on the tops of buds off as sacrificial specimens. This makes it alot easier to get a 60X or so really dialed in. Another thing is to get that piece you've taken off into more natural light as the grow lights can sometimes throw off the colors and make things look a bit "off".

It's all coming down this weekend. I discovered one of the plants had pollen sacks last week so it was cut down early. The buds are small but seem really dense. I don't think it's going to be huge harvest, but I'm satisfied for my first attempt.

Nice job LG, as a fellow first timer, some times the accomplishment isnt in the yield or even the primo quality, sometimes its just making it to harvest and learning lol...your way ahead of the game imo

Your bud looks nice, it was a nice clean grow

Best of luck on the next one.

Sucks about the nanners, but really the plants look lovely. The way they were trained into such dense bushes has likely spread the yield from large colas, into smaller dense nugs. You might actually find that you got a decent amount once your done. The nugs look like lovely frosty chunks though!

Like diggs said having a harvest is a great step one, and you have a healthy harvest which is huge!!!

Different genetics, and/or different training are things you can play with as you continue and learn more about the way these plants grow.

I also suggest playing with different trimming and drying techniques. I've tried a bunch of experiments over the years to get me to what works best for me. I find wet trimming way easier, but usually dry trimming gives me a much better flavor. Which created my happy medium of removing all the leaves with visible stems(only leaving the sugary bud leaves) and usually I break down the branches into manageable buds and then dry on a screen in an area with air flow, but not air blowing on the buds. Usually it takes 6-8 days for the buds to feel "crispy" on the outside, but I can tell they are still damp inside. I take them and put them into a brown paper bag and give it a little shake, and then let them sit till the next day when I open the bag stir them around and check on them, and then close it up again. Usually within about 2-3 days the buds are perfectly dried and have balanced humidty so they smoke great and taste awesome. At this point they are ready for jars or bags for storage. I've NEVER had mold in a jar.

Thanks @diggs99 and @Thundercat :)

I made a lot of mistakes in the beginning. I didn't look after the seedlings very well, letting them dry out too much... I'm not a fan of rock wool. I would like to start training a lot sooner and probably top at the third node instead of the fourth so it doesn't bush out so much. The plant on the cookie sheet was only 16" tall and didn't look like it had much bud on it, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that something came from it.

This time I'm going to wet trim. I may experiment with dry trimming in the future. I've already purchased some mason jars, 62% boveda packs and stick on humidity meters. I'll give the paper bag as well. I'm going to be drying in the tent and use the filter to control the smell. The one I took down last week is in a uhaul clothing box and my basement reeks of weed right now.

I'll post up some photos when I'm done trimming.

Woohoo congrats! How's the smoke?

I thought the density weight might surprise you. Those nugs look pretty solid even though they aren't huge.
Yea you were 100% right. I was thinking I would be lucky to get 100 grams for the entire grow when comparing to other people’s photos.

I tried some of The hermi plant last night. It got me high, but the taste wasn’t that great. Still tasted very green. I’m in no rush and can wait for it to cure.

Thank you for all the help and advice you given throughout this grow!

Thanks @Way2-High
