First time'er showing off new grow

I had a endless problems starting in Rockwool and everything was really slow. I discovered that the center of the rockwool was not getting saturated and After two weeks and almost no growth and the seedlings starting to yellow, I decided to free them from the cubes and put them into the dwc. I used a razor to carefully cut the rockwool away from the plant as much as possible and expose the roots. The rockwool that I cut off would only float on water and would not take up water even when held underwater. I'm never using this stuff again!

It took less than 24 hours for them to respond and start putting out roots and growing quickly. Photos are after one week in the dwc. These are Royal Queen Seeds feminized Northern Light. So far so good. Reservoir temps are holding at 68.3/20C and the roots are nice and white with no sign of any problems. I topped all the plants last night at the 4th node.

I'm a complete newbie so if you see something I can improve, I'm all ears.

Nice job. Next run maybe look into connecting the buckets to a reservoir outside the tent and pump waterfalls in to each bucket. No airstones needed.

I have everything needed to make this recirculating, except the knowledge. I figured I'd go isolated dwc this time and expand it as my knowledge grows. I'm concerned about having an issue and then spreading to all the plants.

I wish the fans oscillated. They're cheapo $10 amazon fans. I have them just lightly moving the leaves right now. It's a 3x3 tent so I'm kind of limited to how large the fans can be.

How I top I find the smallest new fan leaves, spread them open and pluck off what's between them. This makes the axial growth at that node become the new tops. It also encourages branching further down and really bushes a plant out.

Doesn't look like you screwed up. Give them some time. My plants generally take up to 7 days to respond.

Grow looks good. What are you feeding them?

that's what I thought I did. I used my fingernail to pinch it off. Maybe I should have used fine tipped scissors or waited another day so I could see more clearly what I was doing. I'm using a GH cocktail that I think is working great. This is not my recipe, but what a friend recommended.

I'm using RO water and the reservoir is being changed ever week.

Per Gallon
1 ml Armor Si
3.5 ml Cali-Magic
3 ml Florablend
1 ml Floralicious
2 ml Flora Micro
1 ml Flora Bloom
3 ml Flora Grow
6 ml Voodoo Juice

the shoots under the top are quickly starting to climb up.

Chemically altered - I was thinking the exact same thing. As long as I get two or more tops, I'm happy.

Kind of a win win situation. Lol

Your plants look nice!
I'm doing isolated DWCs as well. It will provide more flexibility when growing different strains and that's what I want to do.
How are you exchanging air in your tent?
How are you controlling humidity?

I have a rapidly maturing plant in an isolated DWC 5gal. She's drinking 2 litres per day and it's pretty annoying especially if I want to go away for the weekend or something like that. I'm currently installing a 30gal Res with lines to my buckets that overflow back to Res. If I want to isolate a bucket I just add a stopper cap to the line and boom it's now back to being an isolated DWC. This means I can leave for a couple of weeks because my pH drift is tiny anyway and I find the plant doesn't mind at all a drifting ppm. I usually begin my ppm at Res change around 800 and let it drop to 500 before another change. Personally I think having the best of both worlds is ideal.

Man I like that. The ease of having a 30gal res is just a fucken beauty.
Take some pictures.

I have a 4" inline fan at the top of the tent exhausting and I have a carbon scrubber hanging, but it's not connected yet. There's a 4" passive intake at the bottom where the airlines come in. RH in the room varies between 40 and 45%, the highest I've recorded is 47% in the tent. It's usually 1 or 2 higher than the room humidity. I'm not doing anything to control it right now. Our basement flooded last summer so we purchased a couple dehumidifiers which I can use if need be, but I'm hoping I don't need it.

The tent is in the basement on a concrete slab. The temperature in the basement is a chilly 18C/64F and the temperature in the tent with the light on is 22C/71F.

Sweet that's my next attempt but I can't see it being much more than the same as a normal idwc grow just that if one plant gets hit they all do.

Yeah having a top off tank is super nice!
I use a 55 gallon barrel hooked up to my system. I filled it up last night around 3am and by 1pm today they had drank nearly 10 gallons. It's insane. I have 9 plants that'll finish week 8 of flower tomorrow.
