First time grow. Low budget

Just reading through the thread. One suggestion especially since you live in Cali and are on a budget.. Craigslist is your friend. Theres usually 3 or 4 blowout deals on the LA CL from ppl who have shut down their huge commercial grow and everything you could ever want from lights to fans to unused nutes. Sometimes just small home grows. But either way nothing wrong with 2nd hand gear especially when you are just starting out.

Good luck with the grow!
Thanks for the tip. I've def scoped the craigslist for sale section. You're absolutely right. Thank you. I'm really not on a budget just using budget type equipment for my first grow then I can go all in. Thank you again ❤

Grow looks awesome can't wait yo see the finish!! I am currently on a budget grow with also a $50 Amazon light. Growing a lil bag seed I found out of some good bud. She popped Jan 5. I call her Dolo.20200215_081641~2.jpg20200215_081648.jpg20200215_081631.jpg

This lady got most of her big leaves trimmed today and each branch cut off I each individual. Now I’ll hang them like this for a few more days temps at 65-68 with an rh between 45-59 no higher then 55 Smells amazing and sticky af for those who seen my post on here with b4 pics. I’ll make then look nice once fully ready but honestly I’m the only 1 smoking it and family and friends. The leaves I left on were covered in tricombs so I’m fine with it now imo

Had a busy Friday and Saturday but good morning anyways. Here's my update on Day 41. Had some temp issues with too much heat. Some leaf tip issues due to heat but she's pulled through and looking great otherwise.
es looking good my friend these plants are amazingly resilient to a lot of things. Long as you correct them she usually bounces right back. But your lady is looking awesome Keep everyone posted this really is one of the best forums and groups that I’m a part of. People here really do care for this cause and hobby and love to help one another

Awh thank you so much! I'm a man of my word so I will continue updates until I harvest. And I'm not counting my chickenssss. Still a high possibility I won't make it till then but I'm on the right path so fingers crossed. Have a good Tuesday :)

Have faith man just keep giving her TLC and she will do the rest. If environment is good and you stay within that ph range you will be fine. And my logic always is and tought down to me by the older heads I learned from less can be best with nutes. Just let her tell you what to give her you got this far so trust in her as she will with u

Right there with you with cheap equipment for my first grow. These are 22 days from seed and had to put to 12/12 a week ago due to space concerns. Definitely going to try the leaf tucking because I have some big ass leaves covering the lower growth. I need more lights too lol.
Right on. Good luck man. They look good for just CFL. I can see some of the leaves kind of crinkling. Mine did that when I had it too hot in the room. But I'm no pro. It looks green and its growing so you're doing something right!

Yeah I got aggressive with lights and maybe had them too close. I don't think it's temp because it stays 70-72 in there

Don't confuse the idea of a "cheap light" with a "shitty light". MANY good lights can be purchased or built on the low low!

I just bought 12 x High Bay 400w Mercury Halide lights (listed as "old warehouse lights" on marketplace) for $5 a light! A little hoodrat engineering and you got a classic lamp that, though dated, can still produce excellent buds.

(Ballast just there for pic. Relocated outside of tent for use)

I traded an old sawzall for that reflector, so for $5 for the ballast and $15 for a low end Amazon MH\HPS conversion bulb my overflow tent is shaping up.

Now... If I can just find a home for all these damn shields!

That's so great. I love the ingenuity you have. I may or may not get into building lights. Doubt it though but still a thought. Looks like with your brain you can turn that full trailer into custom plant pots haha. Unless they're ridiculously heavy. Fun stuff to think about. Thanks for sharing.

Here's what I started with...

Here she is "in action".

Notice the ballast outside the tent on the top.

My next project is 4 x side lighting for my flowering tent... Gotta deal with the heat, then it's on!

“... I'm assuming huntington beach gets pretty humid so get yourself a dehumidifier ...”.

The man started by telling us he’s on a low budget.

@Jman108227 Start growing however it works for you. Cannabis defeats nearly all attempts to kill it. You’ll become more skilled over time. Disregard negative comments from canna nerds who insist on ‘the best’. Your weed will be good. In time it will be great and plentiful. Enjoy the process. Enjoy the aroma and antioxidants of live flowering plants. Enjoy your harvests. Welcome to RIU
