I've only grown seedlings back in high school to sell. This will be my first attempt from start to finish using supplies that were giving to me. Using an organic soil from home depot. RO and distilled water. With a 300w led yintatech light that was given to me. I don't see much posted about growing with cheap lights. I'll post pics and updates throughout after my seed breaks through the soil. Good luck y'all.

Mainly because cheap lights aren’t worth wasting electricity on. I’d stay away from distilled water what what’s the soil you got from Home Depot?

Also what is your growing space look like. Are you able to control all the variables like heat and such. how many plants are you planning on doing?

Right on I'll keep away from it. I just want to keep the plant alive from start to finish even if I only get a gram off of it. Once I learn and am confident I will put more time and money into better equipment. I bought the kellogs organic soil. But i mixed it with some seedling potting mix from miracle gro that I had on hand. So we'll see what comes of it.

Just the left side of a small closet. I will post pics when I get home from work. Its been cold so we have a small heater in the room that keeps it at 75ish. I have a fan in the closet for when it gets bigger. I don't have much control over the environment other than lighting heat and air circulation. I'm in huntington beach so not sure how the humidity will factor in.

If you have air conditioning then you pretty much have the basics covered for a budget grow. I'm assuming huntington beach gets pretty humid so get yourself a dehumidifier and you should be good to grow. I wouldn't fuck with miracle gro unless you don't plan on using nutrients. theres tons of grow videos on youtube you can watch to pick up the basics of growing and of course alot of useful info on this site as well.

This is the side of closet I took over from my wife. I've read that the White walls would be enough for reflecting the light. I'm thinking of getting mylar or some type of reflective material. Is thread I'm in okay to post updates throughout? Or should I start another somewhere else.
White is better than cheap reflective. It’s not worth it, you’re solid mate!

Looks good, can’t wait to see how you do! :D

The man started by telling us he’s on a low budget.

@Jman108227 Start growing however it works for you. Cannabis defeats nearly all attempts to kill it. You’ll become more skilled over time. Disregard negative comments from canna nerds who insist on ‘the best’. Your weed will be good. In time it will be great and plentiful. Enjoy the process. Enjoy the aroma and antioxidants of live flowering plants. Enjoy your harvests. Welcome to RIU

Don't let anyone tell you cheap lights aren't worth it. The light I'm using is considered to be old and cheap by the growers here yet it's only gonna cost me 30 bucks to run for the entire grow and I'm getting 100w per sq ft and like 900 par at 12" height which I can only do because it's LED. It's giving me 223w but is rated at 1000w which is what most people complain about but if you do your research $70 for a 223w light is still awesome.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I would like all of your replies but haven't figured out the like button yet. My seed just popped out of the soil today which is always a great feeling. I will post pictures of her throughout and try not to stare at her too much ❤. All advice is welcome and appreciated.

You get the like button after you post a couple of times and get reactions but new members gotta earn it lol. I'm guessing if your light is rated at 300w your getting about 75w from the wall with an LED.
