first time bubbleponic with led & cfl grow

Alright everything is alright and set up... encountered a couple issues tho.. the tap roots grew along the seed hence i didnt really know how to insert the seed i went with putting the the seed in with the side the tap root came out of, did i do that right or wrong?
temp is steady at 79-80 f at plant hight, humidity 35% , ph 6.3-6.5, water temp 72-74

Hey guys here are some picts i took today..
i lowered the led since i thought more light cant do any harm and saw that most led growers have it at a similar height...
other then that my grow tent is arriving tomorrow so i m looking forwards to setting it up and moving my babies into it..
in my tent i will have the following
1 x 315 w cfl ballast as a primary light
1x 90 w UFO LED light
1x 195 cfm vortex fan as an exaust
1x 6" occilating vornado fan
1x 4" occiliating clip on fan
any comments and advice is helpful !!

Hey Man... Thanks for stopping in on my Journal. Yours looks good to me, although I am also a newbie. But this is my second attempt at my first grow in the unit I have and things seem to be going better at this time. If anything happens with mine good or bad that I think you should know I will definitley let you know. By the way...How come so many people commented on your journal and only 2-3 on mine? Did I do something wrong? Should I have put my journal in this area?

so should i hang them vertically and put the ufo on top??

ive never used one of the ufos so i could really tell you the reflector does help but with cfls the most light come from the center of the bulb thru the bottom
i use 26 watt cfl soft white for my seedlings right now i have a bulb for each plant with the bottom facing the plant for most light each bulb is 1750 lum. you get more lum per watt that way to

They look fine, but you need to get the lights much closer, get them within 2 inches, or just put the LED light down so close its almost touching. Honestly they can't use as much light as you are giving them yet, they would grow as fast and just as well under a 6 watt cfl on your kitchen countertop. Temps can go as high as 85F with no harm and as low as 60F, some strains may vary. You also do not need the fan on until those plants have some height, 6 inches or so. Give them no more than 400 PPM nute solution for now until they show 3 rd set of leaves, then up it by 200 each week until they either show nute burn or you are at 1800+ ppm. Just drip your water onto the top of the rockwool, but cover it all with aluminum foil/panda film etc so the rock wool is not exposed to the light. If its exposed it will turn green with algae.

They always grow towards the most intense light, so they should be pointing at the bulbs. Correct? You're going to have to find some way to disperse the light evenly,(reflectors) or put a bulb over each plant. That would work great if it was do-able. Also, a set of 4' T5's would be even easier.

im using bottel Poland spring water which has a ppm of 150-200-ppm, i was planning to introduce nutes in 10 days or so in order to avoid giving my babies nute burns..
so what do you think if i remove the cfl ballast for the time being and simply hook up the led right above the plant about 2" of the top and hook up the cfl ballast as soon as i start adding nutes?
my temps range between 75-82 at cannopy level , so far i have the duct fan and 2 occilating fans running, I turn the duct fan off at night and simply leave the window open keeps my girls at a nice temp and allows a litte humidity to build up, i just got a humidifier and place it right next to the intake giving me 35-40% humidity at cannopy level. water temps are around 74ish but creep up to 80 sometimes, i simply fill up a ziplock bag with ice and a little water and dump that in the tank, within minutes the water temp drops back to where it should be..
One of my plant already grew a root alll the way to the reservoir as the second one isnt even showing out of the botton of the basket any idea whats gong on with it?

As i told NoDrama i think for the time being i will remove the cfl ballast until i start adding nutes, and just hook up the ufo led 2" right above the plants.. let me know what u think

Hey guys i took the advice i got and made a few changes to my grow tent.
i am running my duct fan for 20 minutes every hour, and my big occilating fan runs all the time keeping air flow in the tenet and sucking in humidity from the intake....
since i only have my led running now the temps in the tent droped as the light gives off vitually no heat, hence having to put my duct fan on a timer.. humidty at cannopy level is now between 40-60 % temp at cannopy level 74-76f...
i also put alluminium foil around the plant in order to insulate the rockwool from the light so that algea doesnt build up...
one of my plant s has a 10 cm root already, as the other one hasnt even come out of the bottom of the basket.. is that normal ? should i do anything??

2 tsp of Superthrive
All to a 12 gallon reservior.
