First time autoflower grow...

Hey Davey wanted to let you know that I got tired of waiting for mine to flower on their own after several months so I switched them to 12/12 a few days ago and have already noticed a big change. My tallest I clipped down today, kind of a FIM or topping I guess just trying to slow the vertical growth since she is much taller then the others. Who knows I may end up with a few extra colas. Personally I am ready to get this first grow over with so I have something for all my work.

Sounds good. Have you noticed buds starting to form yet? How long do you plan on flowering them? I know it's hard, but be patient and you'll be rewarded with some tasty buds for sure!

Well, this journal is a little misleading! When I planted these seeds I was under the assumption they were autos, but after 6 weeks of veg I had no buds. Turns out the seeds were mislabeled and they were regular photo-period seeds. I didn't want to start a new journal though so I've just been running with this journal. For what it's worth, when I thought they were autos I still used grow nutes (Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow A&B), but started off with 1/4 strength, then 1/2, then full. I don't know if you really need to use grow nutes though. You could probably just go with a bloom formula from the beginning or use a product like Humboldt Oneness which you can use from beginning to end.
Oh, Ok I was re-reading some last night and now found this...cool, I agree with you on the bloom nutes probley only feed then once or twice with grow then first signgs of flowering use only bloom.

Well, since I beleive my BigBud came down atlest a week early going to pay close attention to drying/cure for the best results. I probly will cure minum 3-4 weeks ;)

Well, I've got some more housekeeping to do tomorrow in the grow room. The buds on the Bubblelicious are getting wicked heavy and drooping pretty low so I'm going to move the Jock Horror out of the way and tidy her up a bit. Need to support some of the sagging branches and remove some dying lower leaves. I'll post some pictures tomorrow night as well.

Tuesday is week 7 (day 49) of flowering and I plan on hitting up both plants with the Humboldt Big Up powder (0-33-22). I figure I have at least 3 more weeks to go, but I'll be checking triches to make sure.

Stay tuned!

Just wanted to post some new pix here of my ladies on their 49th day of flowering. I'm actually very glad I went in to inspect the Bubblicious close up. Turns out a lot more of the branches were sagging under the weight of the buds than I initially thought. I had to use something like 13-14 strings to hold up the branches. You can see all the strings in a few of the photos!

Overall, the plants are still looking very good. The buds are getting frosty and they are oh so sticky! Even the Jock Horror is doing well considering it had a light dropped on it! You can see how much it leans to one side - no surprise really as almost all of the lateral branches are missing from one side...lol.

I also gave both plants their first application of the Humboldt Big Up powder today so we'll see what that does for the buds here the last few weeks. They get their second application of it next Tuesday. I won't be using anymore Ginormous from this point on - just the Honey Hydro Carbs (88% molasses, 2% yuca, 10% calcium) and Dutch Master One flowering nutes. In 2 weeks I'll most likely use just the Honey Hydro Carbs and then begin flushing with Humboldt Royal Flush. Definitely want to leach all the chemicals out so I'll probably flush several times.

Latest pix attached. Feel free to comment or make suggestions. Peace.

hey nice grow! good thing i found this because i received also those free seeds from attitude and they were labled autos. i have planted the seeds and they are now vegging 2 weeks in and if they are not autos then i am going to grow them 12/12 , you think that is going to affect the bud growth by allot? they are 4 inches tall and 3 ft or so under 600w dual spectrum light inside cool tube

and also btw i am starting week 7 of my snowryder autos, check out my grow and are you going to post your snowryder progress?

Hey - thanks for stopping by and thanks for the compliment! So, it appears I might not be the only one who got mislabeled seeds. Not a big deal, but it did throw my planning off. I actually had to abandon those Snowryders. It sucks because they cost like $50 but I only have one grow room and once I realized I had to switch the lights to 12-12 that was it. They wouldn't have produced squat under 12-12 so they had to go so I could concentrate on the two I have now.

You should be alright with yours even if they aren't autos. I mean if they aren't autos you'll know within the next few weeks and then you can just go to 12-12. I ended up waiting 6 weeks before I realized mine weren't autos which in a way was good because they grew pretty big. In your case I would wait a while before I went to 12-12. It could have just been the freebies they were giving out that were mislabeled.

I'll definitely watch your grow though because I am interested in those Snowryders! Peace.

Appreciate your input, but pretty sure they were mislabeled. I mean I vegged a full six weeks and not a bud appeared. They were already over 2 feet tall. After 6 weeks the first pistils appeared indicating they were females, which I pretty much knew as they were feminized seeds. There's no way in hell they would have buds this big if they were autos - these plants I have now are DEFINITELY not autos!

The northern lights had to go unfortunately. Once I realized these were photo period plants I knew I wasn't going to have enough room so the NL made the ultimate sacrifice and gave its life in order for the Jock Horror and Bubblicious to grow big. I can pretty much guarantee that I'd still be waiting for buds if I didn't change the lights to 12-12!

Another reason the Jock Horror isn't bigger is because it's in a 2-gallon container. They say plants can double or triple in size when flowering starts, but mine have only grown a foot or so more due to the fact that they are root-bound.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not calling you out. I do appreciate your input, but these plants I have now are in no way, shape, or form autos!

Haha, I dont think you are calling me out. But my plants just started to show white hairs at the seventh week mark. I've tracked several Nirvana AF grows and its always the same thing: 6 weeks of veg. BTW, I never switched to 12/12 yet I have hairs.

Your plants are just like every other new AF on this site: they take forever to flower. Surprised you have gotten the info up to this point. Do some searching and you will see. You didn't get mislabeled seeds, your just misinformed.
Dude, do you even know what an auto-flower is? If those were auto's, they would not be as big nor would they look as good as they do. If they were auto's, they would look like shit w/12/12 light and bloom spectrum. If you did some research, you would see that some seed sites run an auto strain right next to the same strain that's a photo-period plant. Which is,I believe, confusing people when they order. If you don't see pre-flower hairs in 12 to 17 days, then there not Auto's. It's that simple. A photo-period plant will not flower if not induced. How do you think mothers are grown. No 12/12, no flowers.

It's cool man - no worries. Here's the thing with autos (and the reason I know mine aren't): autos don't respond to light - they are genetically engineered to flower and produce buds regardless of whether the lights are on 12 hours or 24 hours. When I suspected they weren't autos I flipped the lights to 12-12 and guess what? They budded! Autos wouldn't have done that. I'm not really disappointed - shit, my yield will be way more than if they had been autos! Basically I kept this going as a service to those who might encounter a similar issue. I don't blame Attitude per se - I've received nothing but awesome service from them (plus they were free seeds). Peace.

Just wanted to say that the plants are responding well to the Humboldt Big Up powder. It looks like the buds are getting even fatter! Even at this stage new white pistils are appearing out of the swollen calyxes. On Tuesday I will give them their second application of Big Up (which will be week 8 of flowering) and take some more pix. After that it will just be Honey Hydro Carbs to raise the brix levels. Hopefully they'll be ready by week 10, otherwise I may need to let them go 11 weeks. I'm constantly checking the trichomes so I don't go past the point of degradation. Anyway, more pix coming Tuesday night!

Just wanted to share these awesome jars I got at Crate & Barrel. I don't plan on curing in these jars, although I could, but rather I intend to use these as storage jars.

There is a place called 420jars.com that has XXL pop-top jars for weed storage. However, the XXL size only holds 32 fluid oz or 2 oz of bud and they are a ridiculous $33.95!!! What, do they think stoners are loaded or something?! Take a hike 420jars.com!

Now, Crate & Barrel has 62oz jars (4 oz of bud) for $7.95. Yeah, you heard me right! Same damn jar - includes a rubber seal with a pop-top! I could buy 4 for less than I could buy 1 at 420jars.com. They also have 42oz jars (2.5 oz of bud) for $5.95.

Pix follow below. So, if you have a Crate & Barrel near you, get your ass on over there and buy a few of these awesome jars. You can also order from their website although obviously you'd have to pay shipping. I plan on curing in canning jars I ordered from Amazon.com, but these jars are great for storage. Peace.

nice work! Thanks for the inspiration.
I also have some Nirvana bubb 'auto's that has been going for about 2 months now with only a few pre flowers. The plant was really messed up about a month into it because of nute burn, but now it looks 100 percent, except it doesnt have the buds i expected. I figure i'll give her a few more days, and if theres no further development, i'll go 12/12. What is strange is that the seed was from Nirvana, part of a 5 pack. Only one previous was successful, and flowered under 16/8...

anyways, good luck!
