First time autoflower grow...

nice work! Thanks for the inspiration.
I also have some Nirvana bubb 'auto's that has been going for about 2 months now with only a few pre flowers. The plant was really messed up about a month into it because of nute burn, but now it looks 100 percent, except it doesnt have the buds i expected. I figure i'll give her a few more days, and if theres no further development, i'll go 12/12. What is strange is that the seed was from Nirvana, part of a 5 pack. Only one previous was successful, and flowered under 16/8...

anyways, good luck!
Thanks man. Yeah, that's weird...I don't know what's up with all these "autos" out there. At 2 months yours should be almost finished! Anyway, I still have 5 NL autos, but I'm not sure I even want to mess with them - I have too many regular photo-period seeds that I need to use up!

Today is week 8, day 56 of flowering so we're getting closer! Plants are doing well - responded nicely to the first application of the Humboldt Big Up powder. Today I gave them their second application of it so we'll see what happens. The lower fans leaves are starting to yellow and die off due to the lack of nitrogen. Not exactly sure if I should give them flowering nutes next watering or just use the Honey Hydro Carbs from here on out?

Will probably start flushing with the Humboldt Royal Flush next Tuesday. I really do like the Humboldt products. Seem to be just as high quality as Advanced Nutrients except less costly. I might even start using Humboldt soil next time with my Crimea Blue seeds. I can get a 3.8 cu. ft. compressed bale delivered from Greentrees Hydroponics for a reasonable cost. I'll probably still use the AN Sensi Grow A&B during veg though as the plants really, really like it and I have a bunch left.

I took a small (1.3 gr wet) sample bud of the Bubblelicious from the lowest branch the other day to try. It dried in a paper bag in 2 days and it is jar curing now - I'll probably smoke it this Saturday. Not expecting too much as it is from the bottom of the plant but it might give me at least an idea of what to expect.

I'll post pix of both plants later tonight. :peace:

Just a few day 56 pix. Hard to tell from the photos maybe, but the buds do seem to be fattening up. Probably just going to use the Honey Hydro Carbs this week and then start flushing a week from today. Hoping to harvest in two weeks but we'll have to see what the trichomes look like first.

Well, the time has come to cut these bad boys down! I plan on giving them 24 hours of dark beginning today and then I'll begin harvesting them this Saturday. That makes it 9 1/2 weeks of flowering but I think they are ready. About 30% of the trichomes are amber and the stems really can't support any more weight from the buds.

I'll post some pix tomorrow after the buds are all hung to dry!

I am excited to see what kind of yields you were able to get out of these as well. Seeing you finishing up reminds me more that I myself don't (shouldn't) have much longer. How long did it take you to trim by the way and are you planning on making hash at all?

Yeah, I'm interested in seeing what kind of yield I get too. I don't think it's going to be as good as I had hoped, but then again I held my expectations in check so we'll see! I only had 2 plants to trim, and the Jock Horror was only like half a plant top be honest (due to the light falling on it a few months ago), so I'd estimate that it took me about 2 hours, maybe a little less (90 minutes?) Plus, I got tired toward the end and my trimming skills suffered! Also, not planning on making any hash - no experience doing that and it didn't want to get into something I have no idea about.

I only weighed one bud wet - the main cola from the Bubblicious and it weighed 83gr so dry it should way about 20gr give or take. That's almost an oz from that one bud, so just by eyeballing it I would say I'll have around 4oz?

This is my first grow so there are a lot of things I could do different. Lighting is perhaps the biggest thing. I used two 150 watt HPS lamps but they only produce 16K lumens. Having 2 of them doesn't mean I have 32K lumens unfortunately. Lumens is a measure of light intensity so having more lights just means more coverage, not more light intensity. I might invest in a 400 watt switchable ballast next time around. Also, I need an area that is easier to access my plants - closet was a bit too small. Heat became an issue toward the end of flowering as well. I was able to keep the closet door open during veg but the smell became too much during flowering. Lastly, I never even got a pH tester so I have no idea what the pH was during the grow!

Originally I thought I was growing autos so in part the lighting decisions I made were based on that. Two 150 watt HPS lamps would have been more than enough for a few autos. I mean they actually did fine on these full-size plants, but light penetration isn't very deep and as a result I had a lot of small buds towards the bottom of the plant.

So we live and we learn! I have a bunch of seeds from Attitude left so I might plant a couple of the Crimea Blues I have from Barney's Farm. I'll probably use bigger containers (3-gallon instead of 2) and I might switch soil from Black Gold to Humboldt soil. I really do like the Humboldt Nutrient products.

I'll post my yield results in a couple weeks when the buds are dry and have jar-cured for a bit. Thanks for watching and I'll start a new grow journal when I plant the Crimea Blue seeds. Peace.

Looks wonderful! needless to say my first grow was no where this top notch, great work my freind. with two 150W HPS lighting who could ask for more, imo there's 1000W guys with the same yeild I have seen. Give us a smoke report after cure I will have updates aswell next week. ++ Rep for a awsome grow.

Thanks man. I already moved the buds from hang drying to paper bags (3 1/2 days of hanging) so I'll keep them in the bags for another 2-3 days and then into mason jars for at least a week. After that I'll weigh them and post final yield. I'll stay tuned on your grow as well. I might take a break and wait until I can get better lights before I plant my Crimea Blue seeds, or I might just plant 5 Northern Lights autos I have.

Just a couple more shots of the weed in the paper bag stage. The bags have holes punched in the side for air circulation and have a fan on them at all times. Weed went into the bags after about 3 1/2 days of hang drying. Probably will transfer the buds to jars in 2-3 days.

May not be the prettiest weed, but I don't care as long as it smokes good! If the samples I've tried are any indication it should be very nice.

I'll have yields for anyone who's still watching probably this weekend, although not sure if that will be the most accurate weight as I'm sure there's still moisture in the buds.

Looks like a nice harvest considering what happened earlier in the grow. Your yields should only get better as time goes on too so that is something to look forward to since you now have some experience.

Drying is proceeding nicely - buds were ready to transfer to jars after 5 days. Got 5 quart jars of both the Jock Horror and the Bubblicious. I figure I'll jar cure for a week before I weigh the buds.
Great Work! WOW... how many plants agein? that will last for along time =)

Thanks Zorr! 2 plants, a Jock Horror and a Bubblicious. If I hadn't dropped a light on the JH a couple of months back, I would have probably gotten another 2-3 jars. I plan on weighing tomorrow but I think I'll be looking at between 5 and 6oz maybe - probably closer to 5 and 1/2. Not bad for a first grow of what I thought were autos...lol. I have a tendency to smoke a lot when I have it so I'll have to pace myself with this...I figure I have enough to smoke about at least a 1/4 each week for the next 16 weeks. Next time I hope to be able to grow at least 4 healthy plants and hopefully double my yield. I plan on using a 400 watt MH/HPS light instead of my two 150 watt HPS lights that I used this time.
