nice site....i like this product:

http://www.halfbakedgoods.net/hbgbox.html

doesn't seem too expensive. I don't really have any experience with kief extraction however from all the vids i've watched, if you're using a pollen box, make sure you shake the box side to side, not up and down. if you go up and down you'll get more plant product in the bottom, and it will more likely break the glandular heads, which leads to poorer quality product. I would also recommend not putting too much in the box at a time, just barely cover the screen.

If you want to press the kief into hash, I would recommend one very important detail....don't use plastic if you plan on using a heating process (you don't want plastic to melt into your hash and kill you whilst smoking it), use something like paper food wrap (like the stuff the meat markets use to wrap your raw meats) or something similar....Or i think you can even use wax paper.

Thats the one I was thinkin of getting. How long does the stems and leaves have to dry for before you can sieve them? I would like to process the kief to hash, is a press worth gettin? I think there 20 on that site.

I would say it's up to you really...you can just as easily fold some tightly in a piece of paper/whatever and heat it up in an oven to press it....or tape it like mad and stick it in your shoe for about 10-15 min. Of course a press will probably make the process easier...and if you have a vice and torch you can hold it in the vice and use the torch to heat up the hash to "melt" it together, but you gotta be careful of the temps so you don't overheat it...or you can choose to JUST press it, and not heat it up.

Well as spring is upon us the temps are rising, seeing as how my grow setup is in my garage with proper venting to and from the outside air, so my temps during the day are higher then my lights on temp. Is this going to be a huge problem come summer time? Portable a/c's are expensive to run I take it?

According to many grow buffs supposedly you want a 10° drop from day to night. When I grew in Oregon I had my lights on at night and off during the day...it was a bit backwards temp wise but like 5 to 8 degrees warmer during their sleeping period...I had no problems at all. How is your humidity doing btw? I brought my grow into my bedroom as it's a small grow and got a humidifier running on a timer to save electricity and water. My humidity goes from 30 up to 45, and my plants are feeling better by having it.....the leaves are flattening up instead of curling up

Oregon and Nevada are completely different summers hot as hell here in Nevada and Oregon gets no hotter then 85 degrees in the summer out there so a small portable a/c unit is needed out here it still can be 100 to 90 degrees at night and during the day 100 to 118 degrees here in Nevada so if you growing inside your house are in your garage you should think about having a portable a/c unit make life alot easier on you and your grow!!! our summer got over 100 for about a week straight...and we didn't have central AC there to help the temps....in actuality it really depends on your lighting setup and if you have central air conditioning covering your grow area. I'm using a 200w CFL and raises the temps by no more than like 3-5 deg F....for him, running HID's, yes it would be important to run AC.

Well my temps are similar to yours. Lights off temps are a little higher then light on. I'll prob have to move my setup inside to the house a/c.

if your distilled water is at 10 I would double check and make sure your meter is calibrated ive had times my meter got out of wack within a week other times it takes months. If its not your meter you have to adjust. I use a mix of ro water and sink water that has sat out for 24 hours.
