Failed Tincture

My tinciture failed. I drank prob around 10 ml and I didn't get baked.

SOOOOOO......

Orignially I cooked the medium in the oven, then put it in a bottle with everclear for 3 weeks, then tested.

I'm thinking I didn't cook it long enough for it to convert from THC to THCA.

Would you think it be okay for me to heat it up somehow to see if I can get it to the point where it converts THC to THCA but doesn't light the 95% everclear alcohol on fire so my house blows up?

Any suggestions?

I've never heated anything to make tinc. Add dry buds to the alcohol, shake the bottle daily & keep in a cool/dark place. A few drops and I'm floatin'.

Maybe you overheated the buds? Not sure what happened. Try a small amount minus pre-heating & see how it goes.

Try it with bubble hash, that will get you more potency. Also I never heat my tinctures either. I have been thinking lately that the long soak time most people use to make tincture is not needed either. A 30 second to 2 minute alcohol wash will remove most of the psychoactive chemicals when using green plant matter. Anything past that you are just adding contaminants. My recent recipe has been 16 grams low grade bubble hash mixed with 1 cup 196 organic alcohol. I place both in a glass jar, shake the crap out of it 2 minutes, then strain it once through a reusable coffee filter and once through a paper filter. If using shake I do a 30-60 second wash. With this recipe, 1 tsp is usually enough to get most people pretty baked.

The only time I have heard of heating is when making green dragon tincture and then you are only cooking off the alcohol after a long soak. If you heated the weed before soaking, you very well may have destroyed the majority of the THC. :(
