Lookin' good already.. ~40% are cloudy but I see no amber till now. Pre-flush could speed things up a bit and should be okay. Maybe another week all in all...
But it depends a bit on what you want. The more amber the more couchlock, lol! Especially with haze strains I know a few pros who would already sharpening the scissors to make room for new ones.

Day 73: Turned off uva-b for good, not ready for primetime...this is a grow to test limits...found them, and they’re really low for uvb and vary significantly by strain/pheno...

my advice, don’t risk your colas in last few weeks with anything more than reptile lights....i haven’t given up on uv, just the part about starting during flower....alot more work to do....


Changed out nutesoup to pre-flush on “diesels”...

Ppfd ~ 1050, controlled variables in range...

Thanks for the heads up, it sucks to be the guinea pig! I’ll try and learn from your findings, won’t call them mistakes tho

I have no regrets, finding this stuff out is what this grow is all about...and i have more reef than i’ll ever need...

just don’t want anyone hurting their grow because they think this uv stuff is a straightforward monkey-see, monkey-do...

i use a single 2ft in a 4x4, and even that will bite certain varieties in the arse sometimes. the 4ft is a killer, but worth it.

yes, the 2ft placed as high as can be in the tent from day one works well for me, i am all for the acclimation. the other thing that is causing a problem i think is a lot of what we run has been bred indoors & not seen the full sun in awhile. i love outdoor strains that are tolerant, that way i can bring them indoors & use the uvb & they tolerate it much better than others. thats kinda why i wanted you to use/run some bodhi gear. i abuse plants to see how tolerant they are, and i take them right up to the edge, then go over it.

Works for soil. DWC, not so much...

I do outside soil for a living, not interested in indoor soil.

i wonder why it doesnt work for dwc, i mean the plants are the same, dwc even has more oxygen in it than outdoor. i would think that the plants would transpire even more. i guess i have to do more research in regards to uvb & humidity. i know more trichomes are produced with lower humidity, but what about higher humidity & uvb?

No, i meant acclimating plants outdoors and bringing them indoors, does not work so well for dwc...at least, for me...i know it’s technically possible...

oh, ok. i was meaning that i like breeders who breed outside under the sun. those genetics seem to be stronger when brought indoors to grow.

Day 75: Juicy Fruit Gum, aroma of the day. Whatever strain the “diesels” (left) are, the nugs are really hard and intensely smelling of juicy fruit gum. Their third day on pre-flush, majority of trichs now in the milky stage, a few clear caps, very few amber caps. Will probably run pre-flush another day or two,

Hazes plodding along, probably a week or more until pre-flush... may do first water change since 12:12, refill to current ec=2.0-2.3, see if a swapout near the end does anything noticeable.

Day 76: Front haze fading fast, still a lot of clear trichs, no amber yet, swapped nutesoup for water, just in case excess nute salt buildup.

Heavy tops pulling over mains on back haze, opening center to light. Holding off on pre-flush of hazes for now.
