Joe Biden Pledges $1.7 Billion to End Hunger Across U.S.
The Biden administration has announced a $1.7 billion package to fund initiatives aimed at ending hunger across the United States
Thanks for this. I've been following a lot of different blogs, both progressive and anti-Trump conservative. The talking heads are mostly reporting about Trump and all the dastardly deeds his cronies are planning to do if they should win. Also, Biden is old, as if nobody knew this. They are also talking about how Biden is lagging Trump in the polls or ahead of Trump in the polls as if polls are some sort of horse race. I've started thinking that its time for Biden to show the public what he plans to do. What his polices going forward will look like, as opposed to playing defense like he has for the past few months.

So, here it is, whether the voting public is ready for it or not.

Biden will use whatever powers he has to put his administration to work for the benefit of the public.

Three things he's done recently:

Forgave student loans according to existing laws that were simply being ignored or delayed by student loan servicers. He's also calling those servicers to account for their rather convenient tardiness in re-starting loan payment programs that triggered fines and other actions to put student load borrowers in jeopardy. (link below)

Providing funding to NW agencies for improving streams and salmon habitat. The environmental benefits go far beyond just putting fish on the table.

Fund programs that can do what private charities have not been able to do, not for lack of will but the problem is simply too large. 17 million households experience food insecurity, as the article you linked to says.

So, there it is. Whether the voting public notices it or not (because the media is focused on Trump), Biden and his team are doing the work that the people put them in office to do. It's a springboard for his campaign. Politicians taking reasonable actions to earn the votes of reasonable people. It's what democracy is all about. Or should be.

I expect a link will be posted soon. I haven't seen this yet but here is a summary of Biden's appearance on Seth Meyer's show:

Meyers jumped right into the fray with a hardball question:

"Some documents recently leaked, some classified documents -- and this isn't a gotcha show but I do want to ask about it -- that says you are currently 81 years old," Meyers began.

To which an angry Biden said:

"Who the hell told you that?" Biden joked. "That's classified."

Some say Biden should start making public appearances to show the public that he's still fit for the job. I'm of mixed mind on this. But still, it sounds as if the appearance went well. Not one word of retribution. Imagine that. A candidate who doesn't feel the need to show everybody who is the boss. It's called quiet confidence.

okie dokie, we had our super tuesday like everyone else. The race to watch was the democratic side, it was basically between Roland Gutierrez and Colin Allred. Colin did win and now he is poised to go after Ted Snooze's seat in the Senate. From the polls i've seen down here they are pretty much neck and neck, so we'll see when election comes around who'll win.......but.....

So when Roland found he lost, he aired a bow down speach to Allred which was nice, while he was doing that he had some words for Ted and the Orange man...

and yes he did say that on air too...

Massachusetts governor to pardon "hundreds of thousands" with marijuana convictions

BOSTON - Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey announced plans on Wednesday to pardon those in the state who have been convicted of simple marijuana possession. If approved by the Governor's Council, the pardons would apply to all prior adult misdemeanor convictions for marijuana possession.

In the absence of Ted Kennedy, who surely would rip RFK jr. a new one for his 3rd party run which has no chance and only aids/abets Trump, who in the Kennedy family can read this guy the riot act,Trump in the WHouse w/a push by a Kennedy is a stain that has his dad and 2 uncles rolling in their graves, and this isn't a ordinary R that RFK jr.,s "RUN" helps, this is a sinister, inept R who delights swinging a wrecking ball at every facet of our democracy. Someone in the Kennedy family HAS to talk some sense into RFK jr. to pull the plug, and if not go public to refute his run and inherently state the family's opposition, and that he is a KINO,Kennedy in name only,I have a feeling he's gonna effect this race negatively for Biden, once again STUPID FKN PEOPLE,a vote for RFK jr. is a vote for Trump.

Just another juice up weird ass old white guy living off the fame his daddy gave him.

I am actually not too worried about him, I think if nothing else he will be a useful foil for Biden if he does start to actually make some noise in a few months. The dude is just too fucking weird and won't be able to hold his shit together for very long at all when he starts getting some spotlight is my guess.

WTG Rosa............talk about a wow moment......

way to tear them a new arse......
Wow,

She actually matched Missus Sculley in my forth grade class. One of the few K-12 teachers who penetrated my wall of apathy and got me to do what she said and do more than just sit and listen. It wasn't the passionate tone that I find convincing it was the authority with which she put this point in time in the context of history. And her determination to put the US on the good side of the ledger.
