Cut the holes in the top more oval than round, use the lid to pinch the dart?
I jammed the ink pen through the hole I made with the screwdriver..... I didn't "cut" holes... I wouldn't pinch them in the hole at all... just "free-hanging" in the darts....

Hmmm my Nerf darts are way too hollow...
my thoughts when I saw that you weren't using standard size darts.... You could go get a "foam roller" from the fitness aisle... Cut it to size and Viola!

I just split the darts vertically and there's a bit of overlap in the hole, no worries, seems to work fine. First cutting didn't make it through the night. I cut the second one bigger and I'll see how it is doing when I get off of work.

you want bubbles popping to "mist" the cut end, IMO most strains don't seem to take well to being fully submerged...
If noise isn't a concern, ditch the air stone, and anchor an airline to the base of the container

The first one I cut was tiny, I think it just dried out too fast.

The second one has stem just above the water, and its being splashed by bubbles popping.

Only caveat is that the 2nd cutting in flower, and will have to revert to veg or whatever... I guess we'll see if it survives!

usually takes a couple weeks to root "flowering" cuttings for me.... make sure to change the water about every 7-10 days.....

Here she is, 24hrs after the cut, still maintaining turgor.

You can see how I slightly overlapped the Nerf dart to make it work...

Im gonna make one of these some time this week. Already got the folgers can and the air line just need a pump the t-split and 2 little airstones and the darts and I am ready to clone with it. Will be taking cuts this week and use my old method too so I can compare its effectiveness on the same strain.

If you do bubble cloner you have to have extreme bubbles the water should never touch the stem. should be 1-2 inch below it. When you have insane bubbles they explode in the air. That makes your roots act like an aero cloner. Bro you want so many bubbles its not funny. I ordered a aero cloner so I can do 21 clones at a time of needed. Was cheap enough as I am not making more of a mess than I already have. I need a farm.

At what point do I transplant to another container?

I just want to make sure that it has enough roots to support itself before I transplant it to another medium.

I'll be moving it to a small smartpot with soil.

It will survive now, maybe not thrive... Drop the water level and add some sub cultures and you'll get crazy roots in a few days.... Make sure that all of the cut ends are getting splashed by popped bubbles though.
