From my understanding organic matter can consist of plant and or animal waste at various stages of decomposition, cells and tissues of soil microbes, and substances that soil microbes synthesize with. So when i smash the cover crop, some dies off and creates a brown mulch. I know my microbes are active and is balancing my beds. Mycelium is adding in composting brown matter and the red wiggers has been munching on the fresh greens.
Yes I do agree. But manure or other animal based amendments can raise Potassium levels to the degree that is undesirable in a no-till perpetual grow situation. It's like why I try and keep P levels low if possible in my mulches. Timothy hay or whatever straw seem to keep that in-line to avoid those possible excesses. That's thee other reason I think hay/stray is okay.

I didn't read the whole thread but are you talking about K (potassium), or P (phosphorus)? Or both?

At day 9 in Tent #1 i finally gave them a tea. I just been tucking the tops through the week. Mid week i definitely will tend to the cover. But were just cruising along here

At day 47 of flower for tent #2, i just can't complain. She just back to normal. You cant really tell she went through light burn. I just watered down the beds. I wish the canopy was denser but its its something to work on next round.

Tent #3 is at day 47 also. Everything is going smoothly in there. Everything is on point with this tent.

I messed up the last round of seeds i popped. I forgot about them and the rotted. So i changed up the way i germinated the seeds. I didnt soak them or anything extra. I just dropped them in soil added a little water and covered them. I did this on new year's eve and 4 days later i have a little over half already popped above ground and shed the seed case. Some i did help with but most i didnt. This round is going to be a cluster fuck of genetics. I went through my seed collection and grabbed any pack with less than half a pack in it and planted them. So its going to be alot of ones, two's ,and three's of stuff.

(These 2oz solo cups are perfect for germinating seeds. 50 fits to a trey and 2 treys fit under one of my led shop lights.)

(This trey is basically full. Its all the seeds the germinated and shed the seed case)

(Im going to give this trey until next weekend to germinate. Anything left, I'll discard.)20210103_183311.jpg
