DudeGrows Recharge - Hype or real?

So, I am a fan of portions of the DudeGrows show. Learn tons from Guru, but Scotty and the dude seems to really spout tons on old school bro science, even openly discounting what Guru has to say on occasions. I am also a fan of supplemental microbes and use products like Mammoth P, etc.

I tried a small bag of recharge in the past - but don't have enough grows to really know the difference. The rub is that the dude seems to be the creator and promoter, but he comes off like an uninformed dolt sometimes. Is there enough science and actual value added by the guru to actually make this product have credibility? If I have to rely on Scotty alone, it's a hard no given his lack of knowledge that really surfaces lately.

Let me know your thoughts on recharge vs other variations/methods of microbial supplementation as the more I watch DudeGrows, the less I trust what the dude says. Thanks.

I have used it in the past with great results in FFOF. Would have stunted ugly plants one day,, use that, and 48 hrs later had 4" of new green growth. Its definitely got some power. Seemed to fix lockout issues I was having which I assume was from slightly high ph tap water. Only issue was if I used it every week it seemed to attract fungus gnats from all the molasses so I backed off to just when I saw they needed a little fire.

Switched from FF to a supersoil w better buffering and benes/myco added ahead of time and havent needed to use it at all.

Dude grows show is an infomercial for the products they push. That being said recharge is sort of like sea monkeys..... just add water to activate the microbes and fungi but they won’t live for very long in a sterile medium. Simply adding worm castings and granular mycorrhizae either directly to the mix or in a tea form will do a better job of keeping the soil active than recharge ever could. Microbial activity helps keep ph in proper range while the fungi helps absorbs what is in your mix. The short answer is that recharge does work but there are far better alternatives; they don’t mention them because shipping heavy compost is not really cost effective.

Excellent summary. Thank you.

Richard has this down.

I might add that buy making and using basic Microbe tea. You get all the things you need and you can drop the use of overpriced and over hyped products like that WAYYY to expensive,,,,,,Mammoth P!

I can never justify those things they sell that YOU can make or employ yourself.

I agree the dude grows show used to be a great watch until they started chasing the dollar.
scotty is the guy behind recharge ( he got his microbe guy to do the maths on the produce so he’s the money not the brains behind it).
ganga likes bacterial not fugal so don’t waste you time with microzial as it takes 8 weeks to get going so save it for your mother plants. I bought mammoth p and didn’t see much from it. The recharge is the only one I’d buy again. What it does to my plants you really can’t believe until you try it yourself. Personally I’m not here to argue. More for me. If your U.K. the biosys range is good but nothing like recharge.

Just buy Ecothrive Charge and add from the very start. Just that along with Buddhas Tree Organicus 99 all in one grow and bloom.

During your grow the soil will be teeming with life and always works great for me.

To each his own for sure but I'm a believer. I drank the micorizia spiked koolaid and no turning back. Even with my balanced, living soil the additional specific microbes at the right times helps make nutrients available to my plants. Things have changed, and the one size fits all blends and mixes of various species of microbes have been improved or really replaced. The biggest I see is that phosphorous can be made more available in flower without a booster product that most of us organic growers would never use anyway.
