Donald Trump Private Citizen

Have a look at how the leaker is being treated and how Trump is being treated. Are the sentences going to be similar? They don't need to jump through as many hoops with this guy as with Trump and I'm sure the counterintelligence investigation is ongoing for both. The only reason I can see for not indicting Trump over the documents and obstruction of justice, is that they would immediately have to lock him up, or formally put him in the custody of the SS. Politics is involved here, not crudely and illegally, but subtilty and legally using the prosecutor's discretionary powers, just like Garland did. I'm convinced that the feds at least want Donald running around loose for as long as possible and if he can sew up the nomination before he is put away, so much the better. However, that is too long to wait considering the cases against Trump and for the documents case it would be impossible to delay that long. I think for the documents and obstruction indictments, there is a high probability Donald will be gone for life by the end of this year. It should not take any more than 6 months to sentence him and for this kind of case, the trial should take under 2 months, it is not a complicated case the evidence is overwhelming, and he has no defense.

Let's see how he does compared to this dumb young bastard, in terms of swiftness of justice, trial and the sentence. When he is indicted for it, the clock will start ticking and the timetable is in the judge's hands, he will have time to prepare his defense, and he will set aside a number of weeks based on the evidence and prima facie case. Follow the timeline and sentencing of this case, they are very similar, if they can prove he showed the documents to anybody else.

Jack Teixeira
Washington — The Justice Department argued Wednesday night that accused Pentagon leaker Jack Teixeira must remain in detention before he is tried on charges related to his alleged unlawful retention and transmission of national defense and classified documents.

In a detention memo filed with the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts, prosecutors presented several reasons the 21-year-old member of the Air National Guard should not be released to the custody of his father before his trial. He has a detention hearing scheduled for Thursday.

The Justice Department memo, written by prosecutors from the U.S. attorney's office in Massachusetts, noted that Teixeira faces 25 year in prison and "potentially far more," hinting that he may eventually face more charges. The lengthy potential maximum sentence could make him a significant flight risk, prosecutors argue, and the value of the information he obtained — as well as his low current net worth of about $19,000 — could make him vulnerable to offers from countries unfriendly to the U.S.

"He accessed and may still have access to a trove of classified information that would be of tremendous value to hostile nation states that could offer him safe harbor and attempt to facilitate his escape from the United States," the memo said.

Prosecutors warned that if released, Teixeira could pose an even greater threat now that his identity is known: "Those same adversaries have every incentive to contact the Defendant, to seek additional information he may have physical access to or knowledge of, and to provide him with the means to help him flee the country in return for that information."

Teixeira's public defenders responded to the government's filing Thursday morning and urged the court to release him on bail, arguing the Justice Department's memo includes "hyperbolic judgements and provides little more than speculation that a foreign adversary will seduce Mr. Teixeira and orchestrate his clandestine escape from the United States." The defense said the argument for his detention is "illusory" and highlighted his lack of a criminal history.

In the government's memo, prosecutors said investigators found evidence that Teixeira attempted to thwart the investigation into his alleged leaks. The filing includes samples of some of the more than 40,000 messages they said Teixeira sent on the messaging platform Discord — many about the allegedly leaked documents.

In March, he offered information to users in his group on Discord, according to a chat found by investigators and included in the government's filing.

Investigators also captured conversations that showed Teixeira instructing others in the Discord group to "delete all messages."

"f anyone comes looking, don't tell them sh**," he allegedly wrote to one user. And he told another, "Try to delete all my messages in civil discussions." He came up with one plan to have a Discord user invite him to a chat and then ban Teixeira and use the "option to delete all my messages." The user informed him, "it only goes to past 7 days." Teixeira responded with a profanity.

When investigators arrived at his mother's home earlier this month, they found a tablet, laptop and Xbox smashed in his trash, the filing said. The FBI also found a gun locker where multiple weapons, including handguns, rifles, shotguns and high-capacity weapons were stored "two feet" from his bed, the filing said.

The filing revealed that Teixeira was suspended from high school in 2018 after a classmate heard him talking about weapons and Molotov cocktails. He claimed they were references to a video game, but when he applied for a firearms identification that same year, he was rejected because of those remarks. He applied again in 2019 and was again denied the permit. In 2020, he argued that the position of trust he held with the U.S. government qualified him to possess a gun.

Teixeira also allegedly posted violent rhetoric online. The detention memo notes that last November, he wrote that if he had his way, he would "kill a [expletive] ton of people" because it would be "culling the weak minded."

Earlier this year, in February, he allegedly told a user that he was tempted to make a type of minivan into an "assassination van."

In July 2022, using his government computer, investigators said he searched numerous terms associated with mass shootings, including "uvalde."

we need to combine a couple of the trump threads, too much trump, spread too thin...
And that is where I have trouble deciding which thread to post into, especially with the ones that straddle the line between threads. Is Trump a private citizen now or as he is on the campaign trail (more or less)? Is it to be in the Indicated thread or the J6 thread? I have thrown the J6 into the indicated thread, or the Jack thread, people who run afoul of J6, are they in the GOP thread or the Jack thread? I gave up on the abortion thread and put stuff into the GOP thread, just because I am so disappointed in the Supreme court I started the thread about cases ending up in the SC, which mainly is about its abortion stance but could still have the challenges on just about anything.

All I really can say at this point in time, American politics is messy (and Trump really messed things up, diaper leakage and all).

I'm thinking of starting the EVERTHING TRUMP thread to consolidate all of it, even the breaking news. The trouble is if Trump farts on 5th avenue, someone will start a new specific thread covering the fart.

I lurk a coupla fora where topicality is enforced. I’m pretty glad it isn’t here. It would be a bit much for this herd of cats.

Trump claims he’s under ‘total assault’ because of his lead in the polls
Former President Trump claimed on Friday that he is under “total assault” because of his lead in the polls among current and potential GOP presidential candidates.

“[We’re under] total assault because we’re winning in the polls,” Trump told his former advisor Steve Bannon during an interview on “War Room.”

Trump also took aim at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who is widely considered his biggest competition for the 2024 Republican nomination, despite having yet to officially join the race.

“DeSanctis is failing badly,” Trump said, in a reference to his nickname for the Florida governor, “Ron DeSanctimonious.”
“It’s amazing what being 40 down does,” he later added.

Trump has slightly expanded his lead over DeSantis in recent weeks, sitting about 27 points ahead as of Thursday, according to a polling average from FiveThirtyEight. An Emerson College poll conducted earlier this week showed the former president with a 45-point lead over DeSantis.

“The donors are largely leaving him now,” Trump claimed, adding, “What’s happening is the donors are calling me now because the donors follow the polls.”

While several reports emerged this week that DeSantis was considering a May or June launch for his campaign, he said on Thursday that no decisions have been made about a potential announcement.

“If there’s any announcements, those will come at the appropriate time,” DeSantis said at a press conference in Israel. “But if anyone’s telling you that somehow they know this or they know that, that’s just inaccurate because there’s not been any decisions made.”

I remember not liking the Woolzacks house, I remember somewhat being sexualized with Caroline; I remember having sex with friends @ a young age; showers with my dad (probably not appropriate); Being turned on when I wasn't supposed to be.
