Buzzfeed is doubling down on standing by their reporting, parts might be inaccurate, but the fundamentals are apparently true. Buzzfeed is expressing extreme confidence in their reporting on this issue and are not backing down at all, this story is still very much alive.

Trump keeps interfering with the investigation. This triggers more investigations into the interference. Maybe not a bright move by Trump but it does extend the investigation so he can stay in office.

These guys are pretty confident about their work and it looks like they have the story nailed down. Congress is gonna definitely be interested. I can understand Mueller wanting to plug a leak because Trump will panic and fire everybody in sight, this is gonna make Bill Barr's AG hearings interesting! Nothing like high crimes to get the impeachment investigation rolling and make burying Mueller's report impossible. If Barr tried to hide Mueller's report the DOJ and FBI would leak like a sieve and there would be a lineup of whistle blowers on capital hill. This story has more legs than a centipede.
The government shutdown will produce even more leaks as more desperate unpaid FBI agents get increasingly pissed at Trump. Someone should mention this to Trump, he would understand revenge and end the shutdown.

Cormier was joined by BuzzFeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith on "Reliable."
The pair defended a story published on Thursday that said President Donald Trump directed his longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about a potential hotel construction project in Moscow. The information was attributed to two unnamed "federal law enforcement officials" involved in the investigation.
Cormier, who wouldn't reveal his sources when asked, said the story had been in the works for months and went through a "rigorous" vetting process. The story was reviewed by at least three editors, Smith said.
