Does this HPS bulb look ok?

I grew one cycle with it for about 2 1/2 months... and it's kind of darker around the base but not super bad. My GF complains that she feels light headed when she walks into the bedroom with the grow closet. But I haven't noticed that, although I just started this up to start my flowering cycle and I thought I smell a burning type smell at first.

Its OK, had some do that to me as well. If you keep smelling a burning smell you may want to really check it out or just replace it if you are that worried about it.

OK another question, I've pretty much been giving nothing but water since they're in FFOF. Im starting to see a very light green color on the new growth points (the part you cut off when you fimming).. now I did one feeding in veg of Fox farm Grow big at 3/4 strength. For my next feeding, now that I've officially switched to 12/12, should I so a full strength veg nutes only, or should I add flower nutes too? I think the FF feeding schedule calls for 2TSP growbig(veg nute) and 2TSP tiger bloom(flower nute) when you switch to 12/12. It seems like a lot of nutes to give my plants, which I haven't been giving anything, all at once. But in the past I have a chronic problem of my plants going yellow when I go into flower

Well, how old are they now?

bulbs look fine. I've grown with darker ones for several cycles before my meter shows degradation. quit fiddling with it already and git growing.

Maybe one day but those look pretty expensive and I'm still a noob grower so Im not really ready for that investment yet

Dude. Yeah they are expensive... to begin with. But there's no replacing bulbs. No ballasts to worry about. No having to exhaust massive amounts of heat. And no need to switch from one bulb to the other when flowering.

They're also energy efficient due to the directional nature of the diodes.

I'm a new grower myself. The first light I bought was an LED COB. Yeah it's only 90w. But, it sure puts out a lot of light. Just about blinded myself first time I switched it on.

Your light looks fine. Even the old incandescent globes used to do that. It's normal.

COBs are where it's at.

Well, how old are they now?

They're two month's old from seed but the first month they were in 1 gallon pots and I let them get a big old rootball while I was growing alongside autoflowers. I transplanted them into the 5 gallon pot of FFOF 3 1/2 weeks ago. Notice how the new growth points are kind of light colored? Not enough nitrogen I think?

It does that in flower. It may need feeding by now, though.

Look great! The light growth tips are normal and a sign of vigor. But the general color does look like it is paler than it could be and I would start a balanced nute at a light (maybe 25% mix ) watch for a week or so and work up slowly.

You can always add a little more but it is much harder to remove if overdone.

Nice grow.
