DIY with Quantum Boards

I've been running QB's since they were released and I replaced all my former lighting with them except for one COB light. I've been so pleased with them and with HLG's customer service, you couldn't give me another light!
Just looking at a 120 watt for a hundred bucks . Does this sound about right? From Amazon

I’m thinking a v1 135 may be my least expensive way to see what I think of boards in general. And have a high quality light to boot. I will have to check shipping and also overcome my natural tight wad nature.
$1/watt, hell I have lights that were $3 or more per watt years ago.
Lots of near copies out there both from China and US sellers.

And do I want the 4x QBs , or the single 120 watt? Sorry if silly question
Are you looking at the QB 120's or QB 132's? If so, you just need to decide what correlated color temperature(CCT) you would like and piece together your other components. FYI Amazon usually doesn't have the best prices on Mean Well HLG drivers. Other companies like Digikey, Arrow and TRC Electronics should be more reasonably priced.

Basically it's like do I get the four panels or the one? If the one is the same power id rather the smaller light seeing I would use it for supplimental

Why not use single heatsinks with angled aluminum. Lighter. Otherwise a solid piece would probably work. @Chronikool built some fixtures with a solid piece ( nice fixtures.. ). I thought I saw them not too long ago on this thread. You have a lot of options with quantum boards these days.

It's been a while since I posted any pics, so here are some shots of the latest QB-grown harvest (chopped last night). Strain is HSO Blue Dream.

Straight 3000k, four QB120 V1, run at 250w. The plant was half-dead when I flipped to 12/12 (at my wife's request - I would have waited to nurse it back to health), so I didn't expect much, but I was amazed at how the poor girl turned it around and cranked out some nice, big, heavy, dense colas. I had reconciled myself to very poor production, but now I'm thinking I'll get more than expected. Really, if you saw pics of the plant at its worst, you probably wouldn't believe it could turn out this well!

Yep, the Vf on mine was hand wrtten also. Love my 304s! Sad that discontinued them.

Yep ... they used to “ pen write “ the Vf of each board ( on the border edge ) to test compatibility to another board when i purchased a set or two. LOL.

Thats how OG mine are.
