DIY with Quantum Boards

Thanks, I'll get some of those (probably get delivered in a month or so as I'm remote)..
The thing is according to the website they should work in series too although they recommend a less powerful PSU (hlg240)... hopefully parallel will solve it.
They will work in series with an appropriate cc driver. The quoted driver is controlled voltage and will only work in parallel in this case

Working on a new tent setup ( finally ) .....

Since I lost room space to returning daughter ( millennials ... ) .... next time remember to move.
Anyways ... I decided to throw up a 48”x30”x60” Green Architecture Grow tent .

Deciding on using the Warp Core QB96 rig I built a little while back as main rig.
Presently powered 320w with 2 Agromax Sunblaster UV .
Note : UV more than likely is way overkill in this space but will use on a very tight “ on “ schedule
and is line switched / timer for now.

I ran a full power Burn In period to check temps prior to installing inline fans and ducting
which are ordered and waiting to show up. Temps plateau about 86° after 3 hours.
Driver and dimmer is removed to outside corner of tent.

I will utilize an 8” fan and controller and passive inlet duct.

Here is where some changes will happen with ONE of the Sunblaster lamps........

I plan to swap in a QB18 supplement strip ( 2 foot ) on a heatsink to SNAP into box clips that hold the Sunblaster. It’s measured perfectly to add in. This way I can change center area with either a SOLSTRIP X3 or QB18 . Or ? . Maybe that solstrip 5050 br from cutter ?....

Got to do some wire management as I hate wires hanging all over.

You need two Wago 222-415 lever-nut connectors. These connectors make are excellent for wiring 4 panels in parallel. All the + go to one connector and all the - go to the other connector..[/QUOTE]

I managed to get some of those 5 way wagos and everything is working! thanks for the tip!
I planned to have them run at the rated max 75 watts each but when I play with the knobs on the hlg-320a it gets pretty hot at 200watts total (I measure at the outlet), hot enough to touch but just barely, so prbly 60C or so, I hesitate to turn them up any more.

Anybody have an idea how hot can they run before they need active cooling?

I have them screwed to a .5mm piece of aluminum with not fins or fans.
Could it be me the settings on my knobs affecting them? I turn adjust the "Io" knob until it says 200w on my meter and then I turn up the Voltage so it's just a little above the required amount to power the light.

Drivers will run hot. A thicker piece of aluminium would be a better passive heat sink. If your driver is outside your tent, the carbon air filtration system exhaust air will be sufficient to convectively cool your drivers.

ah, I don't have an exhaust (or even door on the closet they're in) but I put a small fan blowing down on the heatsink and it's barely warmer than my body now. I cranked it up to 300W and my plants started bleaching 30cm below the QBs, 250 seems ok.

Ok, so this post is a little non-sequitur but I figure you all might like it.

So I grow in soil, though now days I feed it with Megacrop. One day I was checking the tent and saw something growing in one of my 3.5" pots and it wasn't weed. It was very small and looked weird. I almost tosssed it, then decided, what the hell, i want to see what it might be. So I checked it a few days later and was amazed. There was just the one and I've no Idea where it came from, the soil is recycled indoor only soil so it didn't come from outdoors. Maybe a seed in my mustache fill in the pot....lol!

Well here she is, then and now

Just add this.

https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/all/products/hlg-60-supplement

Cheaper than upgrading boards and added 470mm blue to fill the white led "dip" . It also has 730nm for added emerson effect.

Or this

I have 2 QB 288 V1 that I bought in Nov. of 2017 and I just put them into service. It took them a few days to get back to me, but hey, they're having growing pains, been there myself when I ran my business. But their service is stellar. No questions asked, they are taking care of it! Thank you to all at HLG! I wouldn't trade a REAL QB for a truckload of that Chinese ripoff junk!

The Olson square. Unfortunately, the driver isn't dimmable but there is a 40-watt driver that is interchangeable. We may have some of them in stock. We also may have a 24-watt one as well.

Still harvesting one of my first rspecs. Like i said it was a bit burnt and slow to finish. I did a slow harvest on it over 3 weeks, top to bottom. Got about 170g and a bunch of popcorn. Bit better than the V2, but like i was saying earlier it burnt my plants up and stretched and matured them too fast. Great light to finish things up, give them some color and potency though. Doing my next with a smaller tighter plant this time and im going to work on training, and ive backed the light off. I just gave one of my old V1s to a buddy and im looking to replace it. Waiting on HLG to tell us whats next. UV, price cut on V2's? Solid veg light would be nice too. @Stephenj37826

My experience with Mean well drivers is not good, still waiting for a replacement driver for a HLG 550 in the mean time plants are in the dark, ill have to buy another system at my expense as i live in New Zealand shipment could take a while , so far 2 out of 6 meanwell drivers i have had have failed with in 3 years only one related to HLG.

hps was more reliable and cheaper
Did you buy them from a reliable retailer? That's super bad luck or if they were from eBay Alibaba maybe they were fake
