DIY with Quantum Boards

LED has no more affect on Sativa than Indica. Keep the lights at the right distance and your fine. In fact,Sativas can take higher light levels than Indicas, as they are a tropical strain.
Question: I am thinking of buying some QB's from Steve. Do they work well on Sativa's? I heard that the LED yellow's Sativa leaves pretty good. Can anyone confirm this? Many thanks!

Good to know thank you. One more question if you don't mind.

Do you think the CLU048 cobs (CX-16) work better than the 1152 LM561C S6 ?

Or in other words do you like the big COB's vs the little diodes?

I've become a fan of the Quantum board factor. in fact, most of my lights have been replaced my boards with a couple cobs filling in here and there. production wise, its a toss up really. QB are somewhat more cost effective IMO.

Thank you folks! Yeah, I thought that Indica vs Sativa thing was b.s. that's why I cam to this post. I know you guys have been mucking around with these lights for a while. I have always used CMH, but I am looking into these to see if I can save a few bucks.

Compared to hps... plants grown under cob and qb will take up more calmag and other various nutes/minerals to keep up with the faster growth. It takes a learning curve for feeding. The leaves are nice and green if your plant is healthy. It seems to me the 3000k qb has plenty of blue in it. Would work nice on a stretchy sativa in my opinion. Good luck

what voodoo is this; where do you get your information? I'm not joking, where does it says LED's(QB's) make sativas yellow, or anything yellow?

the closest thing I can come up with on this is: sativas tend to be tall, and they reach the light and get yellow from being to close.

Better late than never.:bigjoint:

I feel your pain @Cedru
I also learned alot on Cobs and was ready to get some but then I learned of these Quantum Boards and never looked back.
for a 5x5 dedicated flower space thats alot of space to cover. I could throw some diy kits at you with 2 or 3 boards each to fit it.
https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/diy
check out the 260watt kits they now have 3 different configurations. I think 4 of the 260 watt or the 260 XW or even the 260 XL side by side
3 triples or 4 square doubles budget dependent, dimmed down to around 90 watts a board and hello 1kg plus from a 5x5 space.
