Just a question, but what is the predicted failure pattern of the individual LED's expected to be. Will it be a single dead LED and the remaining stay lit, or will a string of them go out (and how many to a string)?

So far hard to comment on failure rate and none of failed during use. Few failed as my driver cable touched wrong spot on board.
You lose 1 row if u lose a diode.
1 row is 38 diodes.
There are 8 rows so 38x8 = 304 diodes

Hey Guys, i'm completly new here and also relatively new to the whole LED stuff.
I Wanna build a DIY with those sexy Quantum Boards! Currently i'm running with 16 Nichia 108 COBs,
so i know the basics. But what i dont get exactly is this:

So - for me - it seems like, if you're running those boards in Daisy Chain, they'd all consume 108.3V to 112.5V (depending on the board itself) EACH. But The HLG-240H-C2100 can only provide 59 ~ 119V.

When i build my Nichia108 light, i knew that every COB will consume a certain amount of Valtage, and as long as the driver offers enough Voltage for all COBs, the lights would switch on.

So before i order the whole stuff, i wanna make sure it'll work (I live in germany, so the whole process of ordering will take much longer :)

So my question after all this is :
Why is a HLG-240H-C2100 driver is capable of running 4 Qunatum Boards in series (althought they consume about 440V together)?

I'm thankful for every answer!

The picture above is parallel wired not series.

When in parallel the voltage doesn't "add up". When in series it does. Parallel the current is divided amongst the boards. I.E. 2100 ma between 4 boards would be 525ma driver current to each board. You can add as many boards as you want in parallel as long as the voltage matches. So you could start at 4 boards and add more later to further underdrive them.

So with 2 boards ordered I am looking at this as the best option for me;

HLG-120H1050B X 2

Reason being is I need to spend 100 to get free shipping. So going this route only cost a few dollars more than one

This way I can run each board independently.

This will allow me to in theory root/clone/Veg in one small area and allow me to manage heat.

If I did my math correctly I will get around 110 watts per board?

Or I save $20 and get the HLG-240H-2100B and get another 30 watts bust would have too dim as a whole.

Im torn between Cost/watt and the ability to run independently.
