DIY with Quantum Boards

In my 4x8 tent they are mounted the 4' span as seen here.

Since there was an angled roof and limited hanging height we figured not to go longer than 22" max on the design. My buddy was replacing the ViperSpectra600 he had. We installed 3 of those 260 fixtures so far, my buddy is blown away and the driver was set to about 2/3 power. Once all is done, ill be sure to put up a pic.
That's one of the nicest light setups I've ceen!!!

I am not sure what dimmer I need to buy for my settup, hlg v2 and heatsinks and 2 XLG-240-H-AB. Someone mentioned "potentiometers" and "adjusting current" I am not sure what that means... If anyone could clarify these things that would be really helpful.

I am following this video but beyond the drivers, heatsinks, and qb lights I do not have some the things they are using in assembly.

Drivers on one plug or separate cords?
If one each, use a 100k ohm if they're together on a single cord, use a 50k ohm

Thanks for the reply, I'm sorry man I'm not sure what that means, is the 100k ohm the dimmer?

How can I know if I should do a single cord for 2 or a separate cord for each?

I have 0 knowledge and am trying to learn, sorry for the super dumb questions.

I'm saying your drivers as they sit right now, are they wired to LEDs? Does each driver have it's own POWER PLUG for plugging into the wall? They're not 2 drivers in one fixture, tied together to run at the same time using only ONE POWER CORD, Right?

I have not assembled it yet I am trying to figure out what parts I need to do it. I just have 2 drivers, screws, heatsinks, and the leds. nothing else.

EDIT: I don't know a lot of the language people are using like currents and potentiometer, 100k, 50k, ohms, the video shows a dimmer but I don't know which one I need to get.

EDIT EDIT: The kit on hlg site was a lot more expensive than just buying the drivers, lights and heatsinks seperate but now I am missing small things I don't understand.

Or here, just use these ones to make your life easier since you probably don't wanna solder I'm guessing.

You might as well get 2 triples, mount the boards on the ends, hang them individually, and ditch angle aluminum altogether. The cost of it will be the same to mount your boards together, if using single, in sets of 2 and even more to combine those 2 into a 4 board fixture.
Not to mention being able to run your boards at 200W+ each with the added surface area. Maybe move them in 2" in from the ends. Few holes to drill and tap for that, but not a huge ordeal.

This is what I am using. If you have to drill holes anyway its a bit cheaper than the Slate's, and you can get any length you want. Trade off is they are not anodized (I think that adds @ 25% to the price but dont quote me bc I didn't get it). I think @SCJedi ordered one too. When I placed my most recent order they said they were going to keep some stock in the LA warehouse so future orders would be faster.

Hi everybody, sorry to jump in late into this thread. Am trying to replicate something close to an hlg 550 v2 rspec.

I know there is a lot of info in this but 780 pages is a bit much to comb through, does anybody have a decent DIY and bill of materials?
Is alibaba/express a decent place to start for purchasing boards?
Any draw back to the alibaba 550 clones?

Maybe ask about the chinese lights in the chinese light thread. Or buy 4 qb288 v2 r spec with slate 2 heatsinks and an hlg600h-54b. Or if you may expand to 6 or more boards, i would recommend 2 hlg320h-54b. Wire them in parallel with these drivers. Get some angle aluminum to make a frame or hang them all seperately. Or you could buy the hlg600 diy light.
