Hey guys/gals, i have a 4x4 tent that up till now i haven't really maximized(only upgraded to it this year to begin with) and am getting ready to fill it out this month. I currently have a 135 watt QB and was wondering my best options to fill it out. My first thought is a 260 which should cover 3x3 plus my 135 2x2 and thats 3x4 or just shy of the whole tent which i wouldn't mind since i don't want plants touching walls anyways. If that is my route what 260 is best? Reg/XL/XW? 320 is sold out which im guessing is 4x4? Would just buying 2 more 135 be better than 1x 135 and 1x 260? Trying to concider cost as well as easy to hang for light footprint max. Thanks.

Shiiiit,im in the same boat as you bro... Im getting another qb 100,and 2 more qb288s right now before I even think about that 4x4....

Where I was going with this was that the kits elude to being 320 watt but with the HLG 320H-1750s that I thought they used, you can't hit 320 watts. I suppose I should have bought CV drivers instead to squeeze out a bit more potential. I am building two fixtures with three QB288s each running on the above mentioned driver. I pull 1.767A at 50v, giving me 88.35 watts per board with a total of 530 watts. Perhaps a bit skinny on the wattage for the planned 5x5.

Keep getting asked so i thought id share this, as it is the DIY with QB thread.

Heres how you mount single slate heatsinks onto 2020 profile.
25mm m5 bolt
M5 penny washer x 2.
M5 spacer.
M5 15mm nylon spacer.
M5 post assembly T-nut

Heres how you mount the new elite light engines on 2020 profile. They are 38mm stretcher plates. Cheap and easy.

b type driver and a cheap potentiometer? hlg-320h-1750 will output 2 amp.

So with the potentiometer installed, they drop the constant current mode? I am awaiting some on order from rapidLED to install until I add more diode boards and/or strips and go with some sort of controller.
