DIY with Quantum Boards

Quantum Sunday -

Cherry Bomb ( week 3 to week 4 on Monday ) :

She's building pretty well , smells literally like hard candy. BUT I absolutely hate her look .
Leafy ass plant. So I am hoping at the later stages she will look like a swan instead of an ugly duckling.

BD S1 is sporting tight nodes and broad leaves ( Indy) but maybe that will change later.
Good healthy plant , much different looking than the lankier seed that was the first of the breeding experiment , if she starts looking like a keeper then she will get selfed.

Candy Dream -
Usual favorite , getting frosty .

Papaya- ok she is the RUNT ..... she is slow but growing. Will just jeep her going .
Sometimes runts become fire .... Lol

GSG - RIP
Bag - RIP

Running ( currently) 320 watts -

These are also 12/12 grows ... From seed. It's by far the easiest and quickest way to get some ounces here and there to stock up on. I kinda am on a 12/12 grow kick for now and have been liking what I am getting. That Honey Glue I showed last was a 12/12 from seed and it hits you hard.

As usual, veg got away from me, and I've overgrown my tent.

IMAG0510.jpg

To make matters worse, these are all in 3 gallon pots of ROLS, which is far too little volume of soil to support plants of this size all the way through flower. We'll see what happens.

Two phenos of HSO's Blue Dream and one of HSO's Black D.O.G.

What criteria are you judging by, that he has mites?

Im sorry but you have russet mites or broad mites.
Use a 100x scope and you'll see them.
The damage looks pretty bad. I would scrap and start over.
When you start over.. overload your grow area with cucumeris mites.

i'm thinking about running 12 qb288v2s over a 4x4 @ a max of 65w/1400ma per board. I was told that I would not need heatsinks for this setup. At first I was going to run 9 boards @ a max of 90w per board but when I realized why am I spending money on heatsinks when I could just buy more boards and run them without heatsinks... is my thinking correct here? anyone have any videos of people making a barebones setup with just boards and angle aluminum? are there any companies that would do something like that for me? I want to break it up into 4 strips of 3 boards each, which meanwell driver would be appropriate for that? Basically a max of 200w across three boards, so it would be four drivers in total. been out of the forums for a couple years, need to catch up on this 500 page thread, lol thanks for the help

I think it sounds like a good idea but I don’t know if it actually is lol. There is a guy who has 16 132s and 4 120s in his 5x5. I bet Running them low like that will give you good efficiency, less heat and be able to get them close to the ladies.

Calculates to almost 50 watts/ s.ft on top side....780 watts....Might be little strong... Nice plan with multi-boards to spread out photons.
4 boards over each 2x4 at 240-280 watts probably be enough..Just a thought....

yes I know its strong, that's why I said max. I plan to start @ 55w per board for a total of 660w in order to run a side by side with my spydrx+ for ~ 41.25w per sqft. then ill work it up from there

I've had the same thought. I actually did the math on what it would cost to build a 3x3x5 space entirley out of 132s... lol. My pockets ain't deep enough at the moment.
Perhaps going wall to wall is not necessary. I´m going to convert a room soon, and have though about adding some QBs or strips as side lighting to grow me some trees without worrying about light penetration :fire: Maybe I´ll subdivide with drywall frames, still trying to figure it out.

Does anyone around here use side lighting?

No word yet on QB 120/132 :wall:

the new growth twisting and curling like that.
i've dealt with broad mites.. it's a dead giveaway sign.
russet and broad mites are literally the army of satan.
the only way to beat em is out populate them with predators like cucumeris mites.

Hey all, just got the 260W QB XL, put it all together and only one of the boards lights up. WTF am I doing wrong? Wired completely as explained, its not rocket science, anyone ever had a quantum board DOA?

I have no idea why this worked, but I swapped the boards, just swapped, same positioning, positive negative etc.. and that fixed it? Why the fuck would that have fixed it? I tried EVERYTHING with them in the previous position.

Realistically, wouldnt using one 320 watt quantum board set up flower a 4x4 tent just fine? I realize the end game is to sell as many lights as possible however two of these lights in one 4 x 4 tent? Cmon, that seems like a bit much.

Quantums are like the Lego blocks of DIY ...

Dual QBs will kill in a 2x2 ...... 4 panels ( depending on driver choice ) can push up to 600watts - and flower up to a 5x5 nicely. The beauty of these is that you can keep upgrading your system one or two boards at a time or reconfigure for something smaller.

I run a 4 panel QB with COBS in a 3x3 .... No issues ... Dimmable. It has plenty of watts to mash the pedal on ( if needed ) and can be pulled and re-hung from a ceiling for a larger space ... With zero effort plus already the extra watts to use.

image.jpeg

I built another that is a 3 panel ( wing ) that hits at 320w and was used in a 42" X 30 X 60 tent.

image.jpeg

Then a 3 panel Mixed ( 3000k / 4000k ) ceiling mounted " corner desktop " grow space .

image.jpeg

You will never really out grow these lights as they are constantly running the latest BIN.
I am running the original S5 bin in the quad and am still harvesting great smoke. Hand down the easiest way to build many different variations.

And you can build a single board grow like these .....

4000k supplemental / seedling board mounted on tripod. ( old camera tripod )
image.jpeg

Single QB 304 in a modified MARS HYDRO PANEL ( gutted and new driver ) ...

image.jpeg

HLG does not hardsell you ... It's the growers like myself and many others that do word of mouth and grow sharing. Plus their is no better customer service @robincnn and @Stephenj37826

They sell out pretty fast and there is a reason for that .... Peace.
