DIY with Quantum Boards

@Aolelon I would say it's the far reds as I cant see Mammoth P causing it.
I've read online that overfeeding it causes excess P ro be available to the plant causing foxtailing. Also on the GML show I was told as well. I had a feeling it could be the Far red but even turning them off for a few days did nothing.

Quit being a baby. Im only trying to get to the bottom of this issue. You have a nice garden, stop trying to defend everything and maybe we all can learn something. Maybe budzbudda is doing something some of us are not doing. Lets go see.
My apologies, you came off super arrogant like it was something to do with the QBs and didnt offer any advice whatsoever I just figured you were here to bag on shit

I am pretty sure I've eliminated the QBs being the culprits, as I have turned them down substantially, and it is still running rampant. But it's mostly just one 1 plant with the crazy genetics. So I'm wondering if it's a mixture of a couple things. Like I said half the plant is a polypoid. And the buds got about twice as big twice as fast as the plant on the right. Tbh I just assumed this far in to the grow there is really nothing I can do about it now, and just trim some of it out if I have to..
Sorry for bein a dick tho <3

I have QB's, And yes i think it has to do with white diode lighting. I am here to learn asking questions and hopefully will get schooled in the right direction on what to do. I have no problems looking like a dumb fuck in order to get in the right direction.

However, dry bud also has dry trichromes and you do a lot more damage/knock off trichs when dry trimming and handling the buds. The only way I'd dry trim is with a machine.

Wet trim is harder to trim scissor wise which slows process down if I had to guess why. Properly dried flowers the leaf practicly feels off as soon as scissors touch them. So wet trim might take 1.5 hours to trim 8 oz but 2 stage takes 15 minutes for initial wet fan and no trichomes leaf removal and 45-60 minutes for final dry trim. So breaking up the stages really makes it seem faster since its smaller chunks of time, takes the monotony away.

Trim over a trim tray that catches all the trichomes to turn into some form of hash. I use 2 plastic dish pans used for washing dishes, one for trim one for trimmed buds. Once trim pans full, roughly pound of sweetleaf I either process it or a guy I know turns it into shatter. Ive been doing this for so long it feels like a well tuned assembly line anymore. I can see small time guys that are mainly personal caring about a few trichomes but I don't fuss over it.

This auto ( probably the largest I've seen, was defoliated, and super cropped ( it was hitting the top and side of the greenhouse). I use agressive training with autos often, I've had good scucess with training, so don't be afraid to try it!

This plant is 6 foot tall, AFTER breaking branches! about 5 foot wide. My own cross I call Azure Duck

Is that an auto ? Cuz if she is ... Don't start any man handling techniques on her .... Autos will stress faster than your mistress getting preggers. Just let her bloom ... Spin her around every once in awhile to light up more of her.

Some strains do it more than others ... But I do a lot of Sativas / Sativa Dom . They do throw them but I don't really trip on it. In my opinion it might be a bit of light stress from the QBs , even at a static canopy height a bump in power seems to accelerate it.

I may have to try a grow at just one power ( watt ) level from start to finish.
The intensity of these panels are no joke , I haven't come across narrow spear tip foxtailing but DID see some stacking.

It all smokes ... So to me it's fine.

I think it is. Hot spots in my opinion. Do you think it lessens the quality of the cannabis?
Do you? Because I've never noticed any difference. Also, I see very little foxtailing, and not on every strain. I tend to think it's all down to genetics. I suppose there may be some strains that are more susceptible under LED? Though I can't imagine why that would be. I couldn't care less, to be honest. Sounds like a concern for someone who worries about bag appeal, and bag appeal seems like silliness to me. But then again, I'm not making my living on this, and I know jackshit about the market.

Absolutely not ... If anything it definitely expresses growth and other traits that lie within .
The intensity SHOULD be something to watch , balls to the wall power may not necessarily be the best option ( or should say ALWAYS the only option ) , these are MID POWER LEDs so to me running them close to that or maybe a slight bump would grow just as well and reduce stress issues. That's why I think ALL builds should be dimmable.

I ran a 3 panel ( batwing ) QB that was FIXED to 50w per board using some cheap drivers and that thing grew plants like a champ . I swapped it for a higher power dimmable meanwell to power all three but swear , I liked the FIXED POWER BETTER.

Distance will definitely play into it as dominate colas are closer than say mid growth.
SCROGs are obviously the best for the QB spread. I have a few plants still throwing new pistils in week 9 , so I may have to harvest those tops to get those out of the more intense light ( as they are closer due to height ).

I think genetics play a major role too. As the plant that is the tallest and closest to the light is not foxtailing nearly as bad as the smaller one with the crazy genetics.

Not to stray too far off topic ... Who hasn't come across some pretty ass bud and later tooted a joint and found it kinda meh ? Weak sauce

Bought something called 707 headband once , happy to load the pipe , took some long drags and it was weak as fuck . So to me cute , trimmed nugs really don't tell you much UNTIL you crack that bitch open and get the nose assault . Dark Devil was another ( I grew that ) which would have been better pressing it than rolling it.

Live and learn I guess.
