DIY with Quantum Boards

hey guys, any general idea of par at 18inchs with 4pc QB120? ran at 1500ma?

thanks,
Nope, but I'd like to. Let's sweet-talk LEDGardener into doing another experiment for YouTube.

Edit: Alternatively, I could just stop procrastinating, buy a lux meter, and do the math. But I'd still like to see that video.

Here is my math on this. If yours is better please post it.

LX x .014505 = umol
umols / 1,000,000 = mols
Mols x 60 x 60 x 24 = mols a day

An example

33781 lux × .014505 = 490 umols

490 uMols = .00049 Mols (umols / 1,000,000)

.00049 Mols x 60 seconds = .0294 (a minute)
.0294 x 60 minutes = 1.764 (an hour)
1.764 x 24 hours = 42.056 mols (a day)

So if you are shooting for 38 mols a day you run your light for 20 hours

This is the part that may need tweeking.

LX x .014505 = umol

Im not sure .014505 is the right number. Someone gave it to me

Its close enough to get you in the ballpark (~10%) for lower CCT white LED lights.

I need 2 lights in 1 tent. What would you choose?

2700k and 4000k
3000k and 3500k

Or what would your combo choice of spectrum?
I've read that a little blue light is good in bloom too and can increase resin production

I would choose to research what the different spectrums have to offer. It might just be, someone giving the advice prefer another spectrum because it may suit their needs more.

That being said, I'll go with 3000k for my stuff.

Gl with yours ;)

Any1 building or lighting with a qb120 board need to check out this little driver. Up to 75watts, 90% effecient, dimmable, cooler to the touch than the qb120 they are driving, and $12.80 b4 any discount at arrow. U will need a multimeter or killawatt so u don't overdrive. At 20.43v, it's lighting with just 28ma/0.57watts. At 24.67v, it's pulling 2.45A/60.44watts. I e-mailed HLG and was told not to push more than 72watts per board(at board level). At 60watts the board is measuring 25 degrees warmer than the driver. Each at their hottest point.

Page 10.

It only compares 3k,4k,5k but you can see there's a nice amount of blue in any. Remember we are not talking CFLs when looking at the Kelvin. Its white light, it has to have blue in it.
That said for all rounder I would go with 3500k just because so many have used them with great success.

Sent an inquiry through the site about the 3M adhesive you guys recommend for the Ledil optics.
Maybe you could just post the part number here for everyone.
I used arctic alumina.
It works, but kinda a PITA to do more than a few lenses at a time...

Some 304s with 60 degree
Along with a couple 3590s and a 315 CMH spinning around on a Sun Circle over some green crack @ 5 weeks 12/12
Plus, it's surrounded by 8 120s run soft @1050 for some upskirt action...

I really like that the qb120 don't require a heatsink and want to order 4 to run in 2x4 flower tent but also read that 2 QB288/304s are better for the space. Hmm my budget is not large. Really hoping to get a set up for less than $1/watt and want to keep it under $350-400. Any help would be great.
