DIY with Quantum Boards

Which is? Only Abiqua approved boards can be spoken of? Who died and left you in charge of the LED police?

It was RELEVANT COMMENTARY, Mr Professional Victim, and by the way, what have you grown lately?

EDIT: People's bad behavior will catch up with them quickly enough around here without you trying to play traffic cop. It's already happened above.
Still proving my point.

Guys, I wasn't promoting anything. I was sharing my thoughts on air flow w/ this tech. Giving a # to beet w/ DIY & some ideas.
Forget I tried to share. I'll even go delete it if it makes poeple happy.
Wtf.
There, all deleted, like I was never here trying to help others to begin w/.
Peace!
Never meant any disrespect.

I thought your commentary was relevant. My biggest gripe about my old 4' x 8 bulb T5 fixture was how much heat it would trap underneath, and the shape of boards like these is vulnerable unless precautions are taken.

Thanx! That's all I was trying to say. Once I start getting hammered by haters that's when things start to sound pitchy. There's really no way to defend yourself w/o poeple taking it wrong in regards to a light that's not sold by a vendor here. Wasn't my intent at all though.
When I mentioned about restricted air-flow earlier in this thread quite a few poeple mentioned it to me later when they saw my Horizons.
I thought showing others might help them w/ their DIY projects which in turn would only help Rubicon I'd imagine.
But he doesn't need suggestions from growers I guess.
Oh well. I'll stick to my own threads & if poeple wanna hear my suggestions i can make them w/o others being offended.
The only thing I could understand crying about would be my mentioning the price. One would think these guys would want a pre-made fixture price to beat though seeing how every penny counts to them.
Personally, I think these Quantim boards will work out w/ a few changes made.
I believe the future of medium power diodes looks more like this.
image.jpg Uhoh! There I go again. We wouldn't want Lowes to steal buss.

with all due respect hybridway you can easily start a new thread about any of these things. people are here to learn about robins boards and the constant sidetracks contribute absolutely nothing to the conversation and make finding good info really difficult

I must say that my RIU experience has went up substantially lately since I hit IGNORE on a few highly opinionated yet ignorant individuals and a few shameless shills that endlessly beat the drum on their chosen products. Almost like the old days now. :hump:

Joys of a public forum.

But see, you can still have your precious "safe space" if you cant handle ordinary discourse on a public forum. lol

I feel like the only "precaution" that would be needed would be the slightest bit of airflow to solve that problem, if it even is one.

like literally any airflow at all, wouldnt you think?

its not that at all. moreso that if anything this should be a space where robin should be able to share good info about his boards without people getting discouraged by having to wade thru a bunch of off-topic stuff. esp with peoples propensity to pile on hybrid (who means well...), it just compounds the number of posts you have to surf thru to find the info you need.

who means well? after having just typed that Steven has stolen his entire company? Most places that is called libel. You can be sued in some cases....that doesn't sound like meaning well? does it?

These boards are less than 7" wide most of us used 100 mm lens on a 7" + profile bar heatsinks. On top of that they produce more light per watt than 99%of cob setups people are currently using . So you need even less watts per delivered umol. It seems to me instead of blind speculation a few would do some experimenting first lol.

This is why I bought two boards. I comprehended what these were as soon as I saw them. The fanboyism is staggering throughout this fourm. COB led is the new frontier for indoor lighting and advancements will come fast. It was smart to create the "horticulture lighting group" to get the powers that be together on board. I really with Stephen, Robin and cob kits would compline all the wonderful documentation they have on these boards and make a new thread with them. I have to wade through many unneeded pages to find a wiring diagram.

Ahem. If you are looking for a wiring diagram you shouldn't have to look on a forum... just saying.

And most grow spaces have that airflow going already, anyway. I know I do. I have three (small) fans in my 3 x 3 tent! These boards seem like the perfect thing for a tent-scrogger! :)
