The 288 are $75 each also and I would get two. Then you need two heatsinks $30?. The driver is about $65 for 230watts or S45 for 151watts. Just under $300 I guess.

wow, that's actually kinda cool, especially if i can do it for under 3 bills. Course you keep a fan about the heatsinks to cool them, if i'm right?

Lol... Its not a model... You have to build it. Also the boards don't "need" a fan. They are passive.

ah ok, yeah the diy aspect.....shouldn't be to hard, especially with my goofy mind....i just know that if i smell smoke i did it wrong...lol

Go to their website, pick a driver and the wire diagram is also there. 2 boards in series on a hlg240-C2100A.

You will be dealing with high voltage dc. What you smell burning might just be your own flesh. Just saying.

Interestingly, the Samsung H-series strips use the LM561C and 3 each of the 1120mm strips would equal just under 300 leds (about a QB board) and would cost over $90 from Digikey. And if that's not enough, the QBs have a built-in heat sink and mounting plate! Just saying.

HLG is a tiny operation servicing a very fickle niche market. They ship every order by hand. They've paid for the board designs and they're working hard at innovating on tight margins.

Consider your money an investment in R&D okay? If you want a discount, go to Walmart or Mars Hydro. They'll make sure you get what you paid for.

So Im thinking of running the 4 qb 288's I got on an hlg 240h- c1050. Is there anything wrong with using this driver and running four of them in series? I know the 288 board guide suggests using an elg-240 c1050 for four boards in series so I was wondering what the difference was between the 2 and if there's any detriment from using the hlg over elg
