Which UV chips are good? I was told once, that you can only go with UV tubes light (those for reptiles).
SemiLED has some realy powerful UVA and near UV diodes and you can get 5 for ~17,50$(e3ay). Up to 1300mW at 3,6v/1A! But no UVB.
UVA is also useful it for instance increase terpene content and has positive effects to the defense mechanisms and it is far less stressful as UVB so it can run around the clock without doing any damage. My UVB tubes are running currently for 4+4h/day at 18" above the canopy(start week 7, should be ~250μW/cm²) and there is no visible damage on the leaves. Next week they get 5+5h, then 12h till the end. I'm pretty sure a few UVA diodes do no harm.
The screenie below shows the daily amount of UVB light near the equator and in the northern hemisphere. Every 1000m above sea level, the intensity increases by about 20%. No wonder the strongest varieties come either from mountainous or near equatorial areas.

F..... slugs, lol!! I know leave cutter ants, but bee's?
Take a copper wire, bend it into a ring and lay it around the pots edge. Slugs hate copper because they get electro shocked when trying to crawl over it. Works wonder!

Hmmm... Never heard that one. I was told to sprinkle crumbled egg shells. To a snail its like crawling across broken glass.

I've slug HQ in my garden ffs. They can do some damage especially to marigolds and dahlias but the birds and hoghedges love them.
I noticed the leaf cutting bees several years ago and I had to look them up as I didn't know what was causing the damage.
Nice looking wee buggers and I love bees in my garden.
My brother used to keep bees several years ago. He built his own hive at night school and caught his own bees by putting up bait boxes about the area with lemongrass in them, I think . Bee hive population explosion in really good weather in june/July so they send out the scouts to look for a new home. Once they like the bait box and tell the queen bee in they all go, if it's suitable, you just wait til nightfall , cover the entrance hole and voila, you have your very own free warm to bring home.

It doesn't work after a bit of rain and it oxidises but if you hook up a 9v battery to 2 rings of copper tape that really does stop them.

The FOTOP Boards are working well.
Day 56 of flowering for the 4 x Sensi Star 2s .
Day 25 of flowering for the 2 x CBD Critical Mass, I checked calender.

About a week or so to go for the SS2's .
I've upped the uv-a to 8 HRS on now as I haven't seen any damage to plants directly under it. - I believe its the uv-b fluorescent that I really need, - can't really say if it's doing much but maybe it'll increase the terps.

They've still got a slight suggestion of thrip but the predators seem to have the better of them.

I pulled an SS2 outside for a few pics

Bottom left side looks like a possible thrip on fan leaf, you can see some leaf damage .....
either that or it's a bit of ash from a joint!

Lol, looks more like ash, mate!
These CBD Critical Mass strain seems to explode, is it an auto or a regular fem?
SS2 looks yummy as always!
'm currently at week 8, day 1, the first time with UVB as you know, and I did not seen a single pest these run!
Yellow boards remained completely empty until today. Only dust, no critters!
I did not even have fungus gnats, but that was probably because of the silica/diatomaceous I've added to the soil.
But against tripse, spider mites and other crap it definitely seems to help..

I'll slowly defoliate the SS2's this next week in readiness for the chop, neighbours permitting....... There's a bank holiday coming up - I hope it's bucketing down and the winds are howling lol, keep the feckers indoors!

The CBD Critical Mass are regular fems, this is the last run with the ones I have.
My friends have the other seeds going now and I also gave a mate a few clones of my ones. I run them 10 weeks flower last time but as it's slightly warmer now they appear a bit further on maturity wise so might be ready in eight, nine weeks hopefully.

I've the 2 x Royal Gorrilla and 1 x Sensi Star original just in flower for next round.
RG's look nice but Sensi Star original has been preforming as usual, like a diva, very fussy with nutes but she' getting there.
I gave her a dose of cal mag at 0.7 ec yesterday so she'll come round eventually

Looks like a magnesium deficit maybe caused by to much calcium uptake. I see no rusty spots!
CalMag or some epsom salt should make it.
I often see that on the upper leafes with intense LED light and high VPD.
Deffo strain related.
Same soil, same nutes.
As you know by now I like to push the envelope re temps, vpd und lighting..... lol.

I'll just cut off the yellow leaves and the problem is solved!....... :bigjoint:

Definately! They all have different requirements. What is too much for one is just right for the other and for others it's already too much! SS has always been a diva ..
But like you, I like several strains in my garden, so there's usually one that makes a couple of issues. We have to deal with it! This time it has affected a BlueCheese in my current grow, which seems to be similarly sensitive like SS2. The rest seems to have no issues apart from slowly starting yellowing.

It's even temperamental cloning. I took 8 ss clones and 4 clones off each of the RG's, 9 days later all the RG's have rooted while there's no roots at all on the SS.
Usually 15 - 18 days before they show.
