Cool! I did a DIY cloner years ago. Still have it. I don't clone much anymore so don't use it.

in reply me too...but I did have to make 2-3 cloners at one time

as there was no such thing as a waterproof rubbermaid

I settled on a waterproof cookie bin about the same size ..lol

yeah I just put in my first group of them last night. I have one bagseed plant thats really stretched out for some reason and is starting to overrun its area so i cut a bunch of stuff off of it just to experiment with them and see how the cloner does.

My goal is to just self sustain and not have to deal with seeds unless I want new strains.

Isn't 80 asking for root rot or can you get away with it in aero?
Ive read a lot of mixed info but the most common thing ive seen is 75-80. I have seen as high as 85 though.
Im pretty much just going to see what happens with them. This first batch will be thrown out either way as I dont think its a plant id really want to clone.

People always go so overboard on sprayer heads. You don't need very many. In reality, 2 per sq foot is more than enough.

@shawnery I'd suggest building a new manifold with less heads so you can use the 400gph. That 1000gph is gonna heat the water too much.

I was looking up temps for cloners and I can across ezcclone and they had a list of 15 things to do to be successful. One of the temps was to use sterile rez and run temps between 75 and 85. Sounds crazy but why would a company want to give out shoddy info to lower their reliability rating?

Right now running my pump at 30/30 I'm getting an average water temp of 76. From my reading if you can keep a sterile environment higher water temps should help.

ive been running a 550gph pump in 7 gallons of water for 36 hours straight and it stopped rising at 82.
I have a 15 minute interval timer on the way that ill use on it.

This, ive been thinking even mine has too many and ill probably end up capping the corners off.

My thought was by having extra you allow yourself room for sprayers to go down. Do you think 76 is to high in a sterile system?

How long should it take to see the beginning of roots before I should start to be concerned?

I got a 24hr cycle timer and now do 1min on and 5min off. The difference from 30/30 or 24hrs/day to 1/5 in root growth was huge.

I would consider getting one and they really aren't pricey at all.

I can say I've had great results from 15/15. You may have needed to spray then down and dome them for the first couple of days.

Little update I guess.
Most of them had wilted and died or had squishy stems. Cleaned everything out and cut some new ones. I think I just cut from stuff that was too low and young last time. Giving it another go now.
Also changed my reflective sheets around and sealed the top up so its keeping more of the humidity in it. After checking it a few times, it was staying around 45% so maybe they were just too dry.
Going to keep these at higher RH and mist them for the first few days.

Find a clear tub that's the same size as the cloner, get some foam seal tape and flip the tub over top of it to make a dome to spray down.
