Hi Diggs, sorry you feel that way. Im very disappointed that teknik back in Feb/March mentioned, I guess in confidence, I was going to screw him over on his chips. I have never had any intention of screwing him over, not sure why I would, we have been happy to buy his chip.
We tried to recently order his deep red and were told they could be months away and he did not want to take an order .
We used a different chip on this, that we use on our antibacterial boards, these are not Teknik's chip, and we dont advertise the teknik blue on the anti bac board as it has more 405 that customers had asked for, for COVID applications. this is a mistake and is on me

Teknik isnt allowed here anymore because he was trolling some clowns with the truth and he got petty banned because of it. It has nothing to do with his knowledge or business practices.I can't believe that most on here are still wiling to get the reach around from a couple guys half a world away.
TEKNIK is not longer allowed on this forum why?? Real nice guy only wanting to educate folks right?
And as for Cutter, Mark seems nice enough on the surface but when looking for lighting to drive photosynthesis with proper photomorphogenic traits, I just can't hand my money to a led seller who doesn't even know what a 6500K T5 Spectral Distribution Graph looks like

So you didn't tell OP twice in writing that you had used the material that he had ordered and paid for while knowing that wasn't true? You didn't try claiming your substitution was just as good when you got caught? It was all just an innocent mistake?

Tis a shame, I sent an email over a week ago to Mark asking for help with a custom strip build I'd like to do, asked about using some of those SSK-1560ZGE-UVABoost strips and specifically mentioned I wanted to use Teknik's PC blues and I haven't even gotten a response. Guess I have to shop elsewhere.
This is disgusting Mark. Some one works very hard to create a great product and you try to copy and lie about using his. You are a big enough company that you can fucking pay for the product and sell what you are saying. Not that anyone shouldn’t but wtf man. That is just bad business and scummy as a human being. This really does make me furious and I hope enough people can see the grimey moves you pull so they don’t also get screwed over.
This entire what appears to be criminal fraud would never have been spotted if OP didn't do his homework on verifying the components. Good on you, OP.
Well it's apt timing to see this thread posted at the top of the page.
I placed an order with Mark/Cutter @welight on the 15th of May. I was told it would be posted within a couple of days. Anyway, I left it longer because I had another couple of lights to build and was already told that Cutter can take their time on orders so if I was in a rush maybe shop elsewhere, I took all that into account and was expecting to wait a few weeks to be honest,
But... after about a month passed by I tried getting hod of mark by one email... then another... then another... and the I tried Pm'ing him on here... I got no response, so I mentioned it in my thread on the 22nd of June
This was the response:
It's now the 19th of the following month and I've had to place another order with Future Electronics in the end. That order was placed last night so I'd like to request that my order be cancelled and I'm issued a refund.
I've got to say this, there are no hard feelings my end. I had other lights to build and Future Elec are quick with their delivery in every way so I'll be sorted i a few days... But the issue I have is the blatant disregard for just telling the customer the truth regarding their order, and that seems to be in line with the OP's issue, albeit in a different way.
Like I say, a refund will be enough for me. I hope at least that can be sorted quickly. Thanks

let me just make a couple of points. Our chip is not a copy of Tekniks chip, it is not phosphor converted, it is not cheaper than tekniks chip. We designed it for anti bact application for a specific customer after trying tekniks chip and found it was not SPD specific enough for that application, did I fuck up trying to promote it as an alternative to tekniks chip, yes I did, my apologies to OP Im happy to offer a refund on the product as it is not what you ordered, no excuses, just a bad decision
What about my order Mark? Can you process that refund?

Does this also happen when Nichia is ordered from Cutter and they are swapped out for cheap Cree in hope no-one can tell the difference?

You were for sure selling them as Tekniks pc blue chips though, you offered to make me some custom strips just a few weeks back and never once cared to mention the chips would be replaced with your own copy, even went as far as to call them Tekniks chips yourself in your own words over email, that's not just a bad decision it's straight up fraud dude
Tekniks not allowed here because he couldnt follow basic rules of the forum, and than screamed in my inbox after refusing to stop name calling, and continued to name call.
he was warned several times, and he infinite amount of 3 year old meltdowns in my inbox.
There was no "truth invovleD" just a whiny person whocouldnt get over himself to follow forum rules.

I think I have owned this as a fuck up on my part, our chip is not a Teknik replacement, it was designed for another application, albeit that it is a similar spectrum, without the broader phosphor and Im happy to refund you
the nichia and Cree chip are quite specifically different
