Hi Guys
Lot of good feedback on the kit. I have decided to tweak it a little based on that. I am removing the 0-10V dimmer as most people seem happy to use Pots that are a fair bit cheaper and widely available and the freight cost I think freaked a few people out. We will price the kit, after CUTANDROLL discount and with flat rate shipping at USD420.00(approximate dependent on exact exchange rate at the moment you order)This is DHL shipping as per our normal product shipments

Hi Mark,

Any idea as to when these heatsinks will be available and at what price? Also, when will you be getting some more LSB9980-B?

Also, I'm looking for alternatives for a Mean Well HLG-185H-C1400B to run 4 x [email protected]. Is your Pairui LGSU-200-C1400 suitable, and if so, when are you expecting some more stock?

I am confused as to the difference between a 0-10V dimmer and a pot.

Which one of these is able to run this kit at lets say 700ma and see the benefit of increased efficiency? Or am I completely wrong and I need to purchase a 700ma driver to see that efficiency gain?


So dimming down to ~10% does that mean instead of running 1400ma its running ~140ma? Or is it just the ~50w is dimmed down to ~5w but still running @ 1400ma and the correlating efficiency?

Any reason y'all went with the LGSU200? 90% efficient vs. 94% efficient on the Meanwell. Seems its priced the same as a Meanwell @ ~~$52.50 on Cutters site.

hey why dont you make an active version. everything the same except with some fans and a 2x 2800 mA drivers?

I second this idea.im still skeptical on the round heatsinks,just seems like square will be easier to work with when mounting to most diy rail systems .and how about an option to choose between those dimmable drivers or a non-dimming meanwell,maybe that would take care of any price difference between the 2 drivers?

the Cutter sinks have a flat spot on the side with two tapped holes
A very easy attachment for a DIYer bar stock ,angle stock , SQ tube stock all easy peasy frame up
look at 80/20 slotted bars as frame work OR other channel style to make bars & frames

Gotcha.... I just assumed a 200w part as the OP stated that the cobs would run just under 50w and there were 4 of them in the build package. Why not go with the 200w @ that point anyways and drop the kit by $10? There is really no need for a 250w if you are running 4 @ 50W.

These sound great..I would love to be able to trade my hids for leds, but I would have to pay someone to assemble it for me. I would probably set the house on fire. Sounds like a great price for someone who has talent in that area!

i hear ya, but disagree. Having the ability to add that 5th cob a-la-carte now or later will be huge for people and the # of different configs people can do. all the sudden you can cover a 4x4 grow space with 9 COBs in a 3 by 3 grid so budget minded people can get started with 2 kits.

True but the difference in price between 200 and 250 watt PS is negligible. the concept was you could add a single kit without the need for an additional power supply to up the anty, but Im open to only supplying a 200 watt PS version

Im loving Mau's CAD based goodies, the sliding rail concept he showed on his first video with these kits would allow you to bunch your lights to lift Par in a given area or spread it out or even angle the lights, very flexible. Not saying large plate heatsinks are not cool or Square CPU coolers, just saying what we are trying to develop is a very simple, thermally effective and infinitely configureable concept

Not saying large plate heatsinks are not cool or Square CPU coolers, just saying what we are trying to develop is a very simple, thermally effective and infinitely configureable concept

Yeah i spent alot of time reading about these round pin style heatsinks and i think the more i read the more i like them.

Yeah,i use 80\20 slotted alot in my builds
That's on my ceiling to slide bars tight or wide also a slot for my far red bars made with your pcb fr xp's
