problem is the $2-$3 are the smallest in the list. i think netherfly came out to $15-20 each for the sizes he needed (but he didnt buy 100)

id be down for a group buy if we could get them down to $10ish for a 50W cob
I found another at $40 and they would go down with volume. Thermocoolcorp.com Peace

Hi Guys
Thought I would just chip in and say really appreciate Growmau working with us on this project. We think the concept of an open source style kit that works for the novice or the pro diyer is a great idea. As Mau says the parts are all out there but the supply of viable predrilled Cooler really locks this off. We have ordered initially 120 Coolers and enough other parts as the initial start point. I think you can get very creative with this approach as you can either just build one with little more than a screwdriver or fully blown with what Mau is preparing. By its nature is is directed to CXB3590 but you could use other compatible chips and we will list what holders will work with the Cooler.

Is it the cheapest solution out there, probably not, I am sure you can sub parts that are cheaper but $2-3?? heatsinks, I guess Caveat emptor. Our intention is to get the first run underway and look for ways to cut the costing.

The kit is primarily pitched at the many users(daily) who rock up here looking for a light and are daunted by the DIY process, its not ikea but close, we are the family meal
Cheers
Mark

Because these kits come with a 1.4 amp driver, how is efficiency when dimming with these to say 700ma or 1050ma vs running a specific driver at that rating?

is this the same as the full kit? this seems cheaper than what was posted the other day

mark whats a ballpark for shipping to US+GST/ any duties?
Hi Bobby_G
Yes this is the current kit price, we are trying to get this to the lowest cost we can. NO GST, this is an Australian domestic tax for locals, please IGNORE GST. The kit comes in around 12Kilos so we expect it to be around USD70-80 shipping via DHL
Cheers

Hi Mark,

Any idea as to when these heatsinks will be available and at what price? Also, when will you be getting some more LSB9980-B?

Also, I'm looking for alternatives for a Mean Well HLG-185H-C1400B to run 4 x [email protected]. Is your Pairui LGSU-200-C1400 suitable, and if so, when are you expecting some more stock?

Thanks.

Good job guys. I hope it catches on. DIY'ers can save a lot of time by getting the combo pack in one order.

I may have missed something, but is there any reason the kit is so expensive?

Missed the dimmer, 20 for it on cutter. 8 more for the 250w driver if that's the one the kit comes with(assuming so since the dimmer). That leaves 65AUD difference for 32 screws?
