shoot someone told me to take the bud outta the jar after it;s been re moistened, put on screen, then put it back in when dry, repeat till done

i don't want to degrade the thc so should i just use a small jar, full, and just burp it? burping is leaving the lid off till they're dry again right? do you move the buds around alot when you do this?

I remove the buds and put them back in the jar the first week to insure even drying and no mold! I also hang to dry for at least 5 days! Works very well!

I usually take my buds out of the jars a couple of times during the curing process. This ensures that there is no mold and that the bottom buds get dried out as well. A lot of times in mason jars, the top buds will crisp up, but the bottom ones won't. Pulling the buds out and laying them flat allows all of them to evenly dry.

And I doubt that having a plastic lid would make much difference. I don't think it pulls off trichs unless the buds touch it. But who knows. You can get mason jars real cheap and they don't have any plastic.

i dry my buds out and put most of it in jars but i dont like waitning so i take a glad bowl spray the buds put the top on it get a desk light real close so the inside of the glad bowl stays moist from heat i flip the buds like every 4 hours or more id say the next day u take out let it air a bit ... i use this method and my buds still come out the same way u would cure in jar and it keeps its smell, looks, taste, and weight ..and smokes great.but thats if your in a hurry ....
I'm pretty sure excessive light and heat (as minor as it may be) denature the THC during the curing process, so I wouldn't do that with my bud. If you're worried about it drying out too much in whatever container you put it in, just don't dry out the bud completely before putting it in the jar. (Let the stems be bendy not completely stiff when you put it into the jar.)

You should actually not start curing your bud until the stems snap instead of fold. When your curing, the moisture content in the bud is being even distributed because its in a sealed environment. So when you close up your jars and later see condensation on the inside of the jar, its basically still at a high level of overall moisture content. The reason you burp them is to allow some of that condensation to evaporate. About 5-10 min each times few times daily. the condensation is no longer in the bud and you dont want it to stay.Hence you open the top to let it out.

The drying time really all depends on the the amount of moisture the bud retains, and the size of the container. Proper curing and dry is key to good quality even burning bud.

Congrats on a recent harvest

I always cure my buds before the stem snaps. After a couple of days and the buds are crisp on the outside, but the stems still bend, I start my cure process.

I will close the container for like 6hrs, then the buds are pliable again, so I open the container for like 6hrs. I do this for a day or two, then move up to like 8hrs closed and like 4hrs open. Then go up to like 12hrs closed and 2hrs open.

This allows no moisture to be trapped in the buds and keeps the plant "alive" longer using up more of the stuff we don't want in the buds.

As long as you're smart about it, you can start curing like 2 or 3 days into a dry.
