Gooood laaaaaawwdyyyy. What time consuming task.
I invested in a table top drill press. It made building light frames almost effortless and cost under $100cdn. Definitely should be on every hobby builders list imo. Lights look great. With that much density you'll be able to run them nice and soft, or should I say, you'll be forced to run them soft :)

mental note: Gotta remember to use a punch (a nail or screw) and a hammer to mark where every hole is to be drilled. Not only does it make your holes perfectly placed but it lets your drill bit catch instantly which makes drilling that much easier. Just takes a light tap on this thin gauge metal.

So I decided to use this waveform lighting board as veg light until my current crop finishes up. Its 4k. So I threw two 5000k 90 watt inventronic led strips. The waveform board is 24v @4500mA 108w. I'm pushing it with a driver that maxes out at 24vdc@4000mA for 96w. And pushing the two 5000k strips at 27vdc @3000mA

Just using drivers I had laying around from other stuff. Cheapo Chinese driver. And 24v 4.0a 96w constant voltage driver from keystone. It super bright for only 81w per strip on the 5ks. And 96w for the waveform board. For a total of 258w. Should veg my little 32x32 pretty good. Just a hair over 36w/sqft.

How much did the full set up run you. I'm looking at building an LED setup for a large space but as always starting off money is a factor
What I have in it isnt going to be any where close what you'll have to pay. I got the strips both the f series and the H inFlux_L06 strips for 8 to 11 bucks. I got the f series early on b4 everyone started buying them up. And they raised the price. They are 14-20 bucks for the ones i bought. And the H inFlux_L06 i got for 11 bucks each. Bc I have discount through the company I work for. I think they are 16-20 a piece for normal buyers. Of course the more you buy you get a price break. I have an HLG-320h-24b pushing (12) f562b 3k strips, HLG-240H-24A pushing (6) 96 diode Sunboards 2700k, and Lpv-100h-24 pushing reds. On the big light. The smaller framed light theres (6) H inFlux_L06 4k strips being pushed by a HLG-240H-24A, (4) F562b 4k strips driven by a Hlg-150h-24a, (3) F562b 3k strips driven by a HLG-120H-24A

I have just over 540 bucks in both bc of discounts I get. But what size area are you trying to cover? Veg and flower. Or jus veg or just glower?

I am not sure what size room I'll have yet. I would like to use an entire garage or basement when I move. Just getting ideas for when the time comes and I move.

It would be easier and more cost effective to go with QB. If money is an issue. You can save a few bucks and get like fotop800 boards. They are huge. Take up alot more area per piece than strips. And you can get them in kits of two plus a driver. They do a 4x4 easy. I believe. Go with four of those kits. Ready to go. To cover an 8x8 area. Jus assemble and hang and your ready to rock n roll.

Are those the ones off Alibaba Express?

I have the HLG 260 at the moment and absolutely love it. I wasnt sure if the DIY strips would be cheaper or not. I'll look into the fotop 800s more for sure.

Yeah from rita. Meijiu or whatever. I think two boards, driver, hanging kit. Junk pot. Is like 350-400 per kit. You could probably save some money by getting just the boards through her. And buy driver elsewhere. I think @Moflow has the big 800 boards. He can prob give you better info than i can.

Whoop whoop..... Lm301b diode are just so sexy.

New light build incoming. Doing 1ft strips this time. These are 3k. I have another order of 2700k, 3000k, and 4000k strips the diodes are alternated. Gonna do probably 30 strips total. Maybe 35.

Well I didnt even notice until I looked at the pic I posted here. These are not lm301b diodes. Says right on the sticker. SMD5630 so the dude selling them is selling shit that isnt what it is. On ebay.

Also noticed they say Vero1 on those strips. So those are Bridgelux?

They dont say vero1 they have V+ and V- where did you see vero at? Lol

Edit: I see it now. Lol but I only paid 26 bucks shipped for the 4. Hell I'll swap out my shop flouros and put these in it. He got me though. They are definitely alibaba specials.

New veg light build. Gonna be for a 2x2x3 small tent for fresh germed and seedlings.

Strips: (4) Bridgelux Eb Gen 2 3500k 280mm
(4) Bridgelux Eb Gen 2 5000k 280mm
(4) Samsung LM301B 3000k 275mm. 40 Diode strips

424 diodes total.

Havent decided what kindve drivers I'm running yet. But I think I may run each spectrum on it's own channel.

The Eb strips will be run at 700mA 20.5vdc for roughly 14.35w per strip.
The Lm301b strips will be run at 700mA at 24vdc at 16.8w per strip.

EB strips= 114.8w
Lm301b = 67.2w
Total wattage= 182w over 4 sqft 45.5w per sqft

Debating on adding a few strips. Will be built on alum C channel just like the other ones.

Geez, I was thinking of 6-8, 2 foot f strips on a hlg 150h. Obviously I haven’t pulled the trigger but I’m thinking I may be shy on power seeing your plan! This would be a 2x4 which is even more area. I’m glad I started talking to you about this before getting started.

Are using it for flowering too?

I run overkill in a 2x4. I'm running 12 single row f562b strips and 6 double rows. Plus reds. But you definitely dont need that much. 10 f562b strips on a hlg240 or 320 will do 2x4 nicely.

I like running more diodes at lower currents. 100watts over 10 strips is the same as 100 watts over 15 strips. Just each diode is pushed softer. Which make them more efficient.

This is just veg, I got a rapid kit for the 4x3 with the logic pucks from Santa
I currently use indagro for both in a 2x4 but I’m ready to branch out a bit. I can’t get carried away as it’s a medical grow, limits and all. The induction light is ok but buds are always a bit on the smooshy side.

Those logic pucks are nice. I was gonna go with them for my 3rd flower tent, that is a veg tent right now. With a qb style light from I cant remember the company name. They sent it to me to do a side by side for flower. But it barely vegged shit. So that tent is shutdown right now. Its 32x32. I thought about getting some of the logic pucks for it for flower. And run 3 flower tents. Instead of one small tent for babies n clones. Then bigger tent to veg em out longer. Then two flower tents. But my babies and clones I can get decent sized in the small tent in solo cups. And I usually flower in 1gals. So I think I'm gonna skip the second veg tent. Go from solos to 1gals. Over 3 flower tents. I'll be able to run through 1/3rd more beans.
