I can't remember the exact day we are into flower but I think its around 5... I just smoked a fatty and I'm really baked!

co2 is on, plants were fed again today. I also dropped the lights to 6" off the canopy. everything is looking really good. I'm impressed!

So i am a bit confused about all the words of caution towards Co2 supplementation. Plants use Co2 in all temperatures, and up to about five times more of it than nature generally provides. So what is the fuss with adding Co2 if everything is not perfect? Lets say the temps are low and the room leaks a little Co2(into a safe, non habituated area). So the intake of Co2 is reduced by the temps i imagine, and the fact that it is leaking means your needing to pump more in to stay in your range.

I don't see how doing the above in less than ideal situations would hinder a grow, i only imagine it would help. Maybe not to it's fullest potential, but help is help is it not?
well, here's the thing... the expense and time.. yes definetly a factor... but more importantly, co2 is "carbonic acid"... large concentrations of carbonic acid or co2 will actually acid-burn ur plants... this is the reason when you pour a glass of soda and go to take a sip and get a nose full of co2 it burns. so you see, if your plants aren't already healthy... you could cause more harm than good.... its best to get dialed in and then "upgrade" to co2 once you do...

however, if you live in a northern climate and want to give a little boost that doesn't cost extra... you can use a ventless propane heater in your house (or grow area) (this is how I heat my whole house....) lots of co2 and water as a byproduct included in my heating bill.

Day 6 of bud, room smells amazing and buds are beginning to form... I thought for sure that the plants would have shot up more, but then again I am looking at them about 20x a day so its hard for me to tell if they are growing or not.

I'll be feeding them again today also.

Its all looking good man, question : Do you always use LEDs or is this your 1st time with them and have you done any grows on the same scale with different lighting, and lastly how tall do you ideally want the ladies to be when they hit peak flowering? I find it interesting to compare results :) - STELTHY :leaf:

This is my first grow using LEDs, I have grown in the same space using 2 x 400w HIDs and the heat problem was insane. I am expecting that these plants will finish around 16" - 20" a I flipped them at 8" - 10".

Back to the comparison between the HID and the LED grows in my space. I can tell you two things 100% for sure, 1) the plants under LED are way greener and denser and 2) the fan leaves are basically double in size compared to the HID.

I'm not sure what this will translate into in terms of bud production but so far I am very impressed with these LEDs thus far.

You obviously fooked up your grow with your hid or hps or whatever :-)

led are better for veg and on a par for flowering 3lions ,is it not common knowledge that led vegs better? and leds produce frostier buds in flowering

here is prob the best comparison grow online http://www.420magazine.com/forums/journals-progress/124858-growledhydro-300w-led-vs-400w-hid-setting-sun.html

hope u dont mind me adding this ledbudguy its a nice comparison 300wled vs 400w hid ,try and help educate

"You obviously fooked up your grow with your hid or hps or whatever  " when u finish what your saying with "or whatever " usuallymeans you dont really have much worth saying

noticed a lot of negativity on this site with the led grows ,shame most of em dont know what theyre on about

good luck with your grow

I was being a bit facetious o course but of course hps will grow them perfectly well, not worse than LED tho its true that LED can do well in veg. hence my 'whatever' may have saved me mentioning a hundred things that might have been done wrong with the aforementioned grow. But actually in this instance it was just plain English for meaning 'whatever you used'

It even says that "heat problem was insane" which of course clearly shows that conditions were not correct which would of course lead to less than perfect results. You cannot compare apples with pears, you must compare apples with apples for a true guide.

There is a lot of negativity because a lot of people are suggesting that they are better than Hps and cheaper to run and all that nonsense. Also there have been a lot of people very disappointed having invested quite a large cost for the higher wattage set ups. Of course some people feel so cheated that they go the opposite way and defend them with fury.

I totally think that they have a place, the same as cfl's do for people with small spaces, heat issues etc for whom Hps is not viable.

I have personally visited over a dozen well know breeders grow operations and none uses LED at this point. Do you know of any? I 'presume' that they all know what they are doing or maybe they are just thinking whateverrrrrrr.

I wasn't here to hate on them. I like to think rationally and logically.

Im tired of the LED / HID crap. Here's the cold hard truth. If you purchase any form of Quality LED, you can grow many more plants under the same amount of Wattage. I have 2000W of HID and have hit the ceiling in plant numbers. I need more light. Under 2000W of LED I can grow a significantly larger quantity of plants. So what if the buds are airy (if that even occurs)? You have 33% more plants or whatever the math works out to. That will def. make up for any issues proposed. Think about it...How many plants can you ideally grow under a 1000W HPS in flower??? 7 - 9 for best results? Now how many plants can you put under 1000W of LED? Yeah, now you see it if you haven't already. Apparently at least 24. For arguments sake, lets knock that down to 15. Still thats anywhere b/t 8 to 6 more plants. With LED's it's a lot easier to do what my man has done here and get several 170W (or whatever you got) and spread them out to maximize the lumens foot print. Doing that with HID is possible, but comes with a boat load of baggage. So if people want to argue against LED's and waste wattage, instead of having more plants, then fine. HID's work great, they do, I have two. But that doesn't mean that LEDs don't work either. So, obviously, I like people who grow pot anyway they can, I just can't see why other people want to shit in the pool. The people that post about LED hater's are correct. I am naming no one in particular, but I see a pattern in every LED thread that someone have to go all "high and mighty" and tell someone how dumb they are for maximizing their wattage potential. I can never hate someone for doing that or at least trying to. Thats all. I hope everyones grow goes well. I don't care if you use a candle and a magnifying glass. PEACE

Yeahhh a good post with good intentions, people are so defensive sometimes but the arguments actually often seem to stem from the initial statements of 'LED is better' from what I see in most cases as oppose to the other way around.

In fact the niggles in this one were indeed seeded by "I can tell you two things 100% for sure, 1) the plants under LED are way greener and denser and 2) the fan leaves are basically double in size compared to the HID." which implies that they are better as oppose to there being problems in the hid grow; and another statement of "led are better for veg and on a par for flowering 3lions,is it not common knowledge that led vegs better? and leds produce frostier buds in flowering" which again implies the same thing.

I made my own points clear I think, there is room for everyone and every method. A shame LED is a lot more expensive for the initial outlay so just isn't viable for 99% of growers then everyone could do their own testing :-)

I love MC, have some non Fem from Nirvana, never grown before but will plant some soon. Like that you are using LED's. Sub and + rep.

You are the one who is seeding the argument here, I merely stated a fact based on grows I have personally conducted in my personal grow space. Take it for what it is and watch and learn something rather than knocking it! Oh, and I have been in several commercial grows out here in BC and lots of them are using LED now... But what do they know out here in BC BUD land???
