Thats the thing with new technology, we just dont know until it has been tried. Someone has to bite the bullet. I LOVE the idea of LEDs, plasma, etc, its just hard to choose the right one as there are SOOO many fakes and cons out there right now.

With that in mind ill say thanks for testing these out and documenting it for us. I am really interested in getting a led for a mother keeper and light veg/clone use. From what i hear they promote great branching and lots of nodes= great before flowering under hps :)

Well we are officially in flower, total 18 days of veg (if you subtract the week it took me to get them back into veg the actual veg time is more like 12 days total).

The plants look great except for a little nute burn I gave them by being overly aggressive... On average they are 8"-10" and very busy with preflowers everywhere.

I got a new camera the other day so the pic quality has changed dramatically :)

Here are the official going into first day of flower pics!

Oh and one more thing... Tomorrow morning I will be turning on the co2 system that maintains the sealed environment at 1200ppm - 1500ppm. Let the buds begin :) And yes, I am excited!!!

my experience with leds (6 months of trying) has not been good... the only way to get good weights with led to my knowledge is when supllemented with hps or mh or some other HID source...our wieghts were dramatically improved upon addition of 400 w hps... we had previously 800 watts led flowering... and shit results... wiehgts tripled immediately upon the addition of the hps. good luck though... i'd love to hear the technology has gotten better since then (about 1 year to 1and a half yrs ago)

What did you pull down off of 800w LED? How many plants etc... Were the lights 1w or 3w leds and how many spectrums? would be interesting to compare as the power consumption is pretty close here.

Dude,

Nice attic grow. i see u r right our spaces are similar.
As I was reading And i saw u werent fimming nor scroging or anything I was asking myself where were u going to flower. But I see you flower early and rely on the flowering vegetative push right? Well, In order to ensure a successful grow during this push I supplemented my Illulminator with a 400W HiD :(. My next summer push will however be all LED. My winter grows are HiD (I've decided) especially since the attic get a bit cold in the winter...
Best of luck bro. I'll keep an eye on ya dude....

:peace:

Each fixture is 170w, I have 5 of them. Here in BC the rate per kWh is around 0.15. Running 12 hours a day this translates into roughly $15 - $20 per month to run 850w of LEDs :)
850w costs about $90/month to run (24/0) $70/month to run 18/6 and $45/month @ 12/12. I think you are doing the math wrong. watts is watts

yeah but power rates arent power rates, i dunno bout you guys but here we get chsrged different rates for different area codes. we had a story on the news las week, two families, six houses apart, same street, same power usage different area codes, one house? $150, next house? $1400, go figure

Check page 6 for a real breakdown of the cost, its been covered.

2 days flower... Trimmed the underbrush out, adding another fan and turning on the co2 today. First feeding today for flower.

i cant wait to see those things blow up :)

what are you using to control the co2?
I am using a ppm switch that regulates between 1200 -1500ppm. Switches on at 1200ppm and switches off at 1500ppm. Its pretty cool because I have the co2 hose rigged up to the cooling fan on the last light at the far end of the room so it is distributed evenly over the entire room :)
