Common Sense is gone. Defoliation and canopy management

So I have this theory that many people who cultivate cannabis overthink the process entirely and are fucking idiots :o I've seen individuals pay $500+ for nutrient regimes, $2000+ on their grow rooms, and thousands on whatever other equipment they need, then have a foot wide hole in their canopy and chop all the leaves off for "better light penetration" and wonder why their yields are low and why they spent all their money. lol.

Here are my plants. They are under 400w HPS bulbs, they are in small ass pots. I don't even know their actual size. Medium is Coco
The only thing I focus on-
1. Canopy not having gaps
2. Not chopping any fucking leaves off
3. Feeding plants correctly being mindful of EC and PH.
4. Environmental factors (temp, humidity, air exchange, etc)

I keep it really simple and my yields are stupid big. If you want to fight me on this I shouldn't take the time to talk to you anyway. bongsmilie Hell yea for common sense!

I have to agree man, some of my first grows where under $20 Clf lights bought from the local hardware store and they where healthy and no problems. You can spend all the money and it still doesn't make you a pro

Yea I wonder what stupid big Evan means. Please update with what a stupid big yield is.
Also how long veg-flower time.
Maybe I'll throw away my 1000w for 400w, lol

What is "stupid big" yields from a 400 HPS? I'm sure you could easily double it with a 600. My plants revolt and go on strike if I try to use a 400.
I have a strain that grows so perfectly in a sog setup that i've gotten well over 20oz in 56 days, usually a weeks veg maybe a couple more days if the clones are slow to root. To me, that is a stupid big yield for that amount of light. 600s are "More efficient" I know.. I know.. but My bills are still lower ;)

No no no not saying that!! lol, for me running a perpetual with 1000w lights is a bit unrealistic  1000w are unbeatable

Nothing wrong with a bit of defoliation. I have been doing it off and on for years in different styles of growing and hands down I get bigger yields doing it. You just got to know which ones to take and when.
