Thanks for the advice. I am doing my first grow now. My bottom and top leaves have turned yellow on the tips so i am just trying to figure what has gone wrong at the moment.

this is going to my first outdoor grow and i have 97 seeds. I'll appreciate all the help i could get or just come by and check my grow journal out and subscribe. see how everything turns out for my gorilla grow!

Thanks for posting this, I didn't know that there could be too much care to them that they would end up getting unhealthy or worse... its so fun right now I'm watching them get their new leaves and grow bit by bit. I've been trying to research online and I get mixed information... could you clear this up for me? _____Another still-experimental process to increase the resin it to pinch off
the leaf tips as soon as they appear from the time the plant is in the
seedling stage on through its entire life-span. This produces a distorted,
wrecked-looking plant which would be very difficuly to recognize as
marijuana. Of course, there is less substance to this plant, but such
wrecked creatures have been known to produve so much resin that it
crystallizes a strong hash all over the surface of the plant - might
be wise to try it on a plant or two and see what happens._____
i believe what your talking about is tipping the plant you pull off the tip in the middle new shoot to make it split up and grow more branches good for blending into the garden at home my mate had a plant that was a 1.5m round ball his mum never even noticed it and she smoke too

tipping is fine if you know what your doing i tip all my plants at least once

also if your plants stem is a bit thin and its not doing a good job at holding it up then you can pinch the stem with some pliers (GENTLY dont close the pliers just a light squeeze it should make a lil creak) bout and inch n a half from the bottom and it will induce stem growth to fix and also strengthen it up Dont do it during bloom or while its still very small once your plants bout 1 meter high you should be good any smaller and the stems probs to small but it you wish to play around and test yourself your fingers should be enough to squeeze on the babys death will mostlikely result though

my plants tend to grow to fast and fall over

to much light?
not enough room for roots?

any help is appreciated
your lights arent close enough and the plant will stretch to catch up to the light resulting in tall spindily weak plants.:joint:

i have gathered lots of information over the last couple days (studying) and i kinda know what i want... but i have Zero cash right now.. so ive decided to wait untill summer... gives me enough time to Grow a couple plants organicly before i upgrade and then i will get the little problems under control... ive already grown 3 plants... but 2 of them never grew over 6 inch's and one was almost 12" and it started getting the little grapes so i killed it but this was a little exparament kind of... in a month or maybe even a little more the male plant was showing its sex... doesent that happen late into growth? it was less then 12"
i hear males have some but very low amounts of thc. also cant you just rip someone off and sell them male cannabis?

hey guys,
First grow as well. my baby is 4 weeks old now, looking great.blueberry skunk, female seeds straight from amster-daaaaaamn, planted in quality soil. im focused on one plant with 2 6500k CFL and one 2700K.
anyways, have fertilizer 20-20-20, and was wondering if i could manage with that till harvest. gave a small first dose of nutes 3 days ago, but the question is if the results will be the same with those nutes as with flowering nutes with a high P?
i am not checking ph levels , and give my plants botteled water. question again is if i can manage like that or is it a must to check ph levels for one plant under these conditions.

tnx guys, and great thread.

Saved a sigular seed (the only one) from a nice pungent smelly.
Planted it in short 7" wide pot in multipurpose/seedling compost on a very bright Southish facing window sill in early April.
Germinated over around three days.
Water fed for 14 days.
Moved on to a large (10") pot with multipurpose/seedling compost roots appeared to be forming well, plentiful and healthy.
fed a 1/4 streangth dose of tomatoe food (NPK 2-2-6)
i have an alternative of (3.5-3.5-3.5) not really sure which is best for which stage ?????
also worth mentioning, three other Ganja plants of a different strain are in the same vasinity, i am aware that as soon as plants are old enough to sex, males should be removed.
plants are currently getting around 13.5 daylight hours.
. any hints n tip greatly appreciated

I'm really new and I feel like I can't read enough, then I have so many more questions haha. I really hope I don't make many mistakes, I know there's so much I don't know already.

are nutrients and fertilizerss the same. i have a fertilizer and it says to put the fertilizer on new seedlings and then apply 2 weeks after that.
Fertilizers usually are stuff you put in the soil before you start growing. Nutes are stuff you add later. But yes basically they are the same thing, you can use the words interchangeably. Never really put nutes on new seedlings, you usually want to wait about 2 weeks or so and start out with 1/4 nutes.

if you find that your plant is growing too tall too fast then the answer might be lack of light, or your light might not be close enough. plants grow tall quickly like that when they are seeking light.

This is a question on watering or reservoir temperature. I am running one jumbo rock wool with a flood to drain. Flooding 2X/day for 2 minutes. One plant in Fox farm dirt watered once a day. 15 clones in a home made Aeroponics setup watered 10 sec every 270 sec. I vegged on Technaflora then changed to Advanced Nutrients Sensi Perfect pH with their Hobbyist Bundle at the 5 week of flowering. (I could not keep the Technaflora pH from going acid.). My lights are a mixture of LED's and CFL's. I also inject the room with CO2 three times a day. My room runs at 87F and (here's the problem and question) my reservoirs are running at 78F. I do not want to vent my room because I do not want to loose my CO2. Am I going to loose my plants to root root because my water is too hot? I seem to be loosing all my lower fan leaves so I am beginning to panic.

I am a first time grower and have a question on my leaf coloring. My plant is about 2-1/2 weeks old. As the new leaves come in they look healthy, but the older leaves start to turn a darker green starting at the tip and then throughout the leaf. At first I thought my lighting was too close (CFL bulbs) so I moved them farther, but the problem persists. I have only used potting soil that is premixed with a 3 mo. supply of ferts and water at this point. The first pic is at 2 weeks and the second pic is at 18 days. In the second pic you notice the main leaves at 9 and 3 o clock are darker as well. Thanks in advance.

I've been around a short time and at this point, over all, this weed needs alot attention. For being a weed, nearly daily attention. I don't care what the vet's say, it's not a simple grow. Constant care, daily observations, checking water, soil, run off, heat, circulation etc. For a weed, alot of care, then again you get good smoke in the end. But the care is almost relentless. It's not easy like I've read from alot of folks say. Even from all the reading I've done. That's my opinion.
