Ok I was joking...but why hlg-240-1400b for 4 cxb3590?????
Why not hlg-185-1400b?
I don't understand!?

i don't know thats why I'm asking ...what would be the advantage of the hlg240 over the hlg185..would i be getting more watts out of it ..im very new and been watching vids and doing a lot of reading but still have a lot to learn and understand..

The HLG-185-C1400 can output around 200 watts, and the HLG-240H-C1400 outputs around 240 watts.
Also the HLG-185-C1400 handles a load up to 143 V (4 cobs), and the HLG-240H-C1400 handles a load up to 179 V (5 cobs)

You are going to run those that low...!
I guess you will need lens or reflector cause they must be around 10w @350mA and penetration will be not so good...but you could put the plants at 1inch... (I had some at 5 inches under 50w...1400mA and no probs!)

I'm little slow so this might be a dumb question but me running 4 cxb3590 on hlg240 and me running 4 cxb3590 on a hlg ..the watts will be the same for both...basically want to know if i gain anything by using the hlg240 instead of the hlg185 if i run exact same number of cobs on it

Use the hlg-185h. You gain nothing from the 240h except the ability to add more cobs.

In fact if you only run 4 cxb on the hlg-240-1400b you will loose driver efficiency because it will be under loaded!
So in fact you will use a bit more electricity pay more $$ for nothing!
CU
no he won't as he would still be in the 70-80% load range, do you even read the datasheets?

Are you kidding me dude, fucking read...PAGE 9 of the data sheet
View attachment 3587189

And right below this is the 72v version on the sheet(again...page 9)

Cree makes both you and b-lux look like chumps. Step it up.
Lol, what's your point? Look at the question I was answering? Someone asked about what forward voltage was like for the Cree CXB3590 at currents between 250~500mA and the Cree CXB3590 datasheet doesn't provide anything lower than 1400mA for 36V version, as your photo reinforces, while Bridgelux Vero DOES in fact offer a complete graph, starting from 0mA.

You and your gang here at RIU are so amusing at times. If only you tried as hard at making me look bad as you did in your product development...
