the 315 watt cmh agro bulb from phillips lasts over 3 years, 20,000hours before bulb change. wright now a bulb is around $90.00, but with it lasting 3 plus years its cheap in comparison to the many hps bulbs you would need in 3 years.. also the 315 watt bulb can yield you around 500 grams,,try getting that gpw with a hps...cmh=way better

Cmh will last twice as long as hps. Cmh use a ceramic arc and hps uses an aluminum arc.

But it's better to replace when the spectral degrading starts to occur.

Cmh replacement about 18 months.

Hps replacement 6-9 months.

Just ordered the Phantom CMH setup (ballast, light, reflector)! After shipping, $340.00. Pretty happy with that.

From where if you don't mind me asking. I paid $364.43 after everything and that was the best deal I could find on phantoms. If I can get it cheaper on the next one. That 25 dol can go to somewhere else

I've seen commercial units that run two 315W bulbs and a couple retail ones that run at 400W, but come from questionable manufacturers.
