Closet Stealth Grow - First Time Grower

The leaves were curled when I brought them home(you can see in the first pics), new growth is perking up and growing straight! :)

I brought them home on Monday @ 6pm and have only given 125ml of water each since then - they seem to retain water better than I thought they would. First 24 hours was under CFL and that seemed to dry up the soil a lot quicker, now I'm just running LED and the soil is retaining water.

I won't be watering again until the soil is bone dry. I can try backing off the lights, Hans recommended 15-20cm away

If they were already curled when you got them I wouldn't worry I guess. if the new growth looks nice then wait til you get a decent amount of new growth and snip those scraggly looking things off :P good luck and happy growing!

I honestly wasn't even sure if these things would grow, so the fact that they are showing new growth is awesome. Wood said he had to cut the main stem off of the smaller clone because it was falling off, and there are like 4 little horns growing out of that one now(I'm curious as to how it's going to fill out). The stronger one out of the bunch has new growth showing up on it all over the place, so I'm pretty happy with that.

These clones weren't exactly in the best shape, nor were they the best cut or size...but I shall raise them into girls that Wood could be proud of lol. :weed:

I will definitely get rid of the "original" leaves once some newer growth takes over. Do you think these leaves will ever start growing? The only growth I've seen is all new.

Thanks fred

those leaves will prolly never do anything to be honest. but if the uncurl and go back to normal I wouldn't see any need to snip them off!

I was pretty suprised they grew to be honest . They looked so bad the first two weeks the leave browned and wilted and then perked up again its my first grow and first time taking cuttings I was scared and took the tiniest clones ever

~~Hans Solo~~ Day 4

Well, it's now been about 4~ days since attack of the clones began...as you can see both plants are showing nice, healthy new growth! Strong plant is obviously doing much better, but I'm intrigued by how the small one that got topped is starting to fill in. It looks like it has two main stems developing, which might turn into a shorter/bushier plant. Hans panel has been switched from 'Seed' to 'Mother' setting. I gave them each about 150ml of water today with a very minor dose of some nutes - I am using the General Organics line of nutes which self regulates water PH and ofc is purely organic. Have been using a 24/0 light cycle so far

20140124_163933.jpg...look ma, she's splitting off from the main stem in a Y formation!
20140124_163957.jpg...this plant looks like it's been on steroids compared to the other one, showing lots and lots of new growth that is filling out quite nicely.

~~Hans Solo~~ Day 6

I was planning on updating every 4/8 days from this point on, but I figured enough has changed over the past 48 hours to warrant an update. The small one that was topped before I got her has continued to grow two main stems, however they were growing so close to each other that I just didn't see any good coming from it. So I decided to cut up a business card into a small wedge shaped piece and then wedged that piece in between the two main stems in order to spread them apart, I guess you could say I am already LST'ing. As for the strong plant, well...she's been doing so damn well that I decided to FIM her. Mostly because I wanted to keep these plants the same relative heights, and secondly because I was already planning on doing it later on down the road at some point. Strong plant actually has lots of development; stipules are forming and is spewing out internodes at a decent rate. Both plants have doubled in size since I brought them home, but neither of them seem inclined to stretch too much which is good.

Looking excellent mate, first timer here looking to do a small first time go at it. One to two plants. This looks gd for budget and simplicity am i correct?

Thanks man, I will update tomorrow after work with some more progress pictures. :weed:

This is about as simple as it gets for an indoor grow, and the bulk of the cost was spent on the Hans panel.

Wooden dowels cost me about $12
Cardboard was from old computer/monitor boxes that were being recycled
Spent about $15 on Gorilla/Duct tape
Power bar $13
Timer $9
Panda plastic was free from my friend
Oscillating fan for inside $20
4" muffin fan with fan speed controller $60
DIY Carbon Filter came out to about $30(still have leftover carbon and leggings)
Temperature/humidity gauge $10
Eye bolt $3
Pots + saucers $4~

This was going based off of the fact that I had no spare/used parts to work with, and I did spend more money on assorted tools + hardware(nuts, bolts, washers etc.)

~~Hans Solo~~ Day 10

Wow, what a change 10 days makes! :)

20140130_184818.jpg...side by side. It's funny looking at them both right next to each other, one topped and the other FIM'd. Removed original clone leaves from both plants, they weren't growing and were showing brown spots.
20140130_184918.jpg...the evolution of the topped clone. She had a rough early life; had the top half of her main stem rot off, was sometimes neglected before adoption and yet here we are. Two main stems growing quite strong, and I don't need the business card anymore but I will be eventually tying them both down. Just starting to develop some undergrowth and producing some new branches, tops are starting to show accelerated growth.
20140130_185055.jpg...the recovery/adaptation to the FIM. She had a noticeable lead on her smaller sister in height because she didn't have to recover from an amputation early on in her clone life. She still suffered the same minor neglect, yet was dubbed the strong one! I originally decided to FIM as an experiment, also to try to keep the two plants the same height. It's been 4 days now since the FIM and the plant has responded really well - undergrowth has shown a massive increase, there is shit growing everywhere down there. The main stem has continued to grow even though the main top is still trying to get its bearings back(almost there). Really looking forward to see this plant grow up

Ya man they are looking beautiful since you took em from me . When I originally took the cuttings it was more of an experiment cause I had no where to veg them once they rooted so id go 5 days with out remembering to water the jiffy pellets I just wanted to see if theyd root . Im glad your light came so fast just cause otherwise they probably would have just got thrown out cause my room is occupied

~~Hans Solo~~ Day 14

Well, I will probably be kicking these plants into flower mode soon due to the height restrictions of my box. These are king's kush clones, and wood said his plant grew about 3x larger during flower.

20140203_162026.jpg...:hump:! Transplanted both plants into some bigger pots - the fim'd+tied one is on the left, and the topped one is on the right. Both plants are growing in quite healthy, and neither of them showing any signs of wanting to stretch. The top of the fim'd one looks pretty funny lol
20140202_212523.jpg...here is a top-down pic of the topped plant, I really like how it's main stems are growing in.

Are you going to tie those bitches down? They will love it and help with you space situation.

Absolutely, the one I fim'd is already tied down and the Y shaped one will be getting tied down as she grows :joint:

~~Hans Solo~~ Day 19

They've been kicked into flower(both plants were around 6" long)as I don't want them growing more than 18" in height. Lots of tops popping up all over the place and I have been doing maintenance LST as they both grow.
