2700k cfl's for flowering, you can get them anywhere, If you're in the UK then B&Q if you're in the USA then wallmart will probably have them, or home dep! but they really should be 2700k, or if you want bigger buds, go to a grow shop and buy a big MO fucker cfl (150>300 W) hope that helps!

Thanks I asked because I know you need HPS's for flowering if you dont use cfl so I was wondering if thier were certain cfls that are on the red spectrum of light....thanks bro

If your in the US Walmart has the "Warm White" 23 watt CFLs on sale for .98 a bulb, they are the 2700k...

Good Luck!

Nothing kicks balls like hps! A small 400 watt set up isnt bad price wise. It depends on how serious you are in investing in you grow. Spending a ton of cash doesnt always produce huge yields, a 250w is fine for a personal stash set up, and around 120$.

Personally I would rather just use a shitty set up for my first time and see how it goes and then maybe invest in a HPS, and Lady im in the US but their is not a wal mart with in 50 miles of my house. So i just have to go to home depot or lowes but thanks for the replies

My future will be a mix between HPS (low wattage), and some LED´s (both blue and red, and maybe one of those mixed. Was thinking of 2-4blue, 1-2 red and one mixed, and I´m talking about panels, not 1w single led bulbs :D)) This in the future, at the moment CFL´s , 6500k for veg (5x23W, 2x20w, and works well enough, but small plants however), and similar to flowering when the time is right. But this is a try and fail experiment :) I supply pure sun for 3-6 hrs a day, depending on the day (heat, clouds etc etc)

And for all that now will try to have my head for the LEDs, I´ve read so much....., and seems to be the best combo, HPS and "pure color" leds. This obviously since induction lamps cost to much....

Heres a link for more info on lights, simple and easy...... http://www.4hydroponics.com/lighting/lightingBulbs.asp

Not sick, but I calculated a bit, and I believe that 2-3 40-50WwLED panels put on the sides in a triangle surrounding 3-5 plants, and a 150-200W HPS hanging over will work miracles. More or less same setup with red LED in flowering period, but reduced LED since HPS covers well enough. But if someone knows otherwise I will be happy to listen, but bear in mind that I grow for myself, have a lot of time doing so, and want quality, not quantity (even though both would be great ;) ).

And I will most of the time also put them out 3-6hrs a day.

My calculation is also based on monthly cost, initial and overall gain :)

PS!
I´m going to build the LEDs myself, at least trying to do so :D

If you want good strong buds, use HPS or a Hortilux style bulb. If you can afford a bag of weed, you can afford a good light. For me, the light is the single most important part.
