I can tell the difference between those I've smoked, although the "grapefruit" Jackie White was...well, it wasn't unpleasant - SMELT like grapefruit as per the description, but it TASTED like pork or bacon, some kind of meat anyway...

@ Homebrewer i also saw a strain that looks remarkably like your purple1 it's called killing fields by sannies seeds it's a 12wk strain, i'm thinking of getting some seeds of it from them if my heavy duty fruity doesn't work out something to go up against serious seeds ak and wr
Thanks for your input, I'll check that strain out and see how it looks. Flowering time certainly sounds right on. I also have some AK47 on the way which smells of sweet grapefruit and ginger. Hopefully I have the same taste experience as you.

i really hope so mate i enjoyed it and will be trying to recreate it, i only hope my memories of it aren't getting distorted due to a lack of fine herb i find remembering taste like remembering a dream hard to explain and nail down in description, but luckily i don't have a big list of comparisons as these are the only strains i've smoked to stand out against the others.

Depends on the cure, strain, grow method, nutes.. imo. Years back, i was buying nothing but great bud. I could notice a slight difference in tastes but every batch seemed almost the same to me. But i doubt that it was, I was just untrained to look for the tastes.... I've noticed since growing that i've looked for tastes in different strains i come across .. and while alot have the same herbal smell and dense indica structure ... the tastes vary quite a bit. You just have to look for it. Being a tobacco smoker, i don't know if i've fcked up my tastebuds.. but then again, I feel like i can taste the difference in smoke due to the fact.

i heard that if you keep your bud in a bag with an orange(or other fruit) for about a week, it will taste just like oranges. but then again, ive never tried this.

it probably just makes the bud smell like an orange, not taste

but you never know.. ;)

I think that almost all of the CHRONIC not schwagg does have subtle yet identifiable differences.
Tastes diff. on the inhale from the exhale.
Smells, whole and broken up.
Effects vary on strains.

By far the best way to really appreciate what you have in front of you,
Would be to consume it in the morning, sober, with a steaming cup of Joe.
Nix and I have used this practice for years now. ( the time ive been a grower )
Its even better when you are sitting in a cannabis patch.
This is one of my favorite duty's.(R&D)

I think smoke looses taste after constant use.

Buying into a certain brand name or marketing technique (like advertising in High Times magazine) does not make anything proper. You can find much cheaper vapes for around 100.

i also think everyons sences vary not all the same

sight, hearing, taste, touch different for diff people

some see with 20/20 some almost blind some color blind some cateracts i think some cant smell afects taste i think taste buds vary also

i think we all have the sences all vary 95% of this one 60% of that one and so on all diff for diff people some lucky or unlucky some things you dont want to smell or taste or feel

but then what do I know

From everything i've read, volcanos are pretty much the product to buy, based on results and quality as opposed to hype and advertising. My roor on the other hand was bought purely because it was expensive haha.
